"I actually never even stayed here. I canceled my trip weeks prior to arrival. I had booked two rooms at the same time through trip.com. Apparently I was sent two separate confirmations even though I booked both at one time. So only one room got canceled. I suddenly received an email 3 days before check in saying I was confirmed. I tried to tell them I canceled and they refused to help. Were super incredibly rude and basically said tough. We’re charging you anyway. Terrible customer care. So when I do go to Nafplio there is zero chance I will stay there as the staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. Also, trip.com did not stand behind or help me either. Extremely disappointing. There is no customer care any more. Keyboard warriors who don’t care at all. No common sense or common decency any longer."

"We love the Byron. We've loved it since we first stayed there in 1995 and this century we've been there for at least part of our holiday almost every year. Aris and his team provide a caring, welcoming, comfortable place to stay in a beautiful old building in Nafplio Old Town. Breakfasts are substantial and delicious, and while there is an indoors breakfast room there is also a terrace where you might well share the space with this season's kittens and their family (if you're concerned about hygiene, they do not jump up on tables!). The fact we first went to the hotel 30 years ago indicates that we're on the older side, so you might want to bear that in mind in our evaluation, but the Byron has its share of younger tourists and families as well."

It is a nicely refurbished version of a much older building and the works have been done with great sensitivity. Our room wasn't huge but had all the facilities we needed including good air conditioning and excellent housekeeping. The breakfast service was very good with an ample choice on offer. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and would happily recommend it to others looking to stay in this charming and historical town."

"This apartment/hotel is a short distance from the harbor and the main part of town, close enough to be an easy drive, far enough to be a longish walk. The room itself was great, large and with two balconies, more like a nice apartment than a hotel. It had a nice pool area and breakfast was well worth the extra 10 Euros. The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming, I felt at home from the time I got there. The only thing that could have been better is the lack of cooking gear and things like paper towels and dish soap and cleaning supplies. There were only a couple of pans, and limited cutlery. I probably could have asked for more but since I travel quite a bit in Airbnbs and apartments, I carry my own stuff based on past experience. I had a great stay, everything went smoothly and the staff was very helpful."

Indeed, as other friends said, the hotel facilities are old and the rooms are not big. In short, if you can avoid lightning, just avoid lightning."

"The hotel is a family hotel located on a hillside. There is a public parking lot next to the hotel. After parking, you have to walk about 100 meters with your luggage, and the road is narrow and bumpy. The hotel does not have an elevator and you have to climb more than ten steps to get there. If the guest room is on the second floor, you have to climb up with your luggage, which is not very convenient. But the hotel room is clean, the front desk reception is friendly, and they informed us of the parking rules in the public parking lot (foreign vehicles must park in special locations, and the marked areas are for locals). The hotel is just a short walk down the hill to the town center square and the seaside promenade. As a family hotel, the breakfast is quite rich. All in all, the hotel itself is good, but the road outside is not easy to walk on, and there is no elevator, so it will be tiring to carry large luggage."
