Do NOT book or stay in Nansei Kanko Hotel Naha. I was robbed by a stranger in my room 703 at 4am on 16 Aug 2026. Surprisingly there's NO CCTV in the hotel other than the 4 CCTVs placed only in the lobby which didn't help with surveillance. There's no security guard and no means of safety. The robber took my cash and credit cards and left only 1600 YEN in my wallet. This sounds like an inside job since the robber could gain entry to my room with a card key. The front desk manager claim that only he had the master key and the room maids. So, how can this happen and why is there no camera to stop any form of robbery or assaults to happen. The front desk manager did not apologise or offer any kind of help or showed any concern or care. I got them to call the police to make a report. The sad thing is knowing I'm left stranded in Okinawa with only $13 in my wallet, the manager just couldn't be bothered to help other than saying, they will not investigate since I have already made a police report. Any decent or reputable hotel would immediately investigate and provide some form of assistance to guest but not Nansei Kanko Hotel Naha. The room had a musky smell, no extra pillows available, the pillow size is meant for kid and designed for Japanese with beads, the corriorder is dark, gloomy and badly lit. Staff not welcoming or helpfull. The one and only good thing is the hotel is next to the Makashi monorail and the start of Kukusai street. Other than this, its a BAD hotel stay experience. I always thought that Japan is a safe place, guess I got it wrong....its the hotel that is not safe. Very disappointing!!!
