This is a gorgeous hotel. Immaculately decorated and super clean. Delicious breakfast and the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in away from home. Really good pillows and linen. Iain the owner and host is very professional but also warm and charming. Wholeheartedly recommend.

It was a great pleasure to stay in such a lovely house (beautifully decorated, furnished and maintained) surrounded by park-like gardens. Ian and his family looked after us really well and provided lots of very helpful information and advice. Breakfast in the very grand yet cosy dining-room was delicious and plentiful with plenty of choices! Our room was gorgeous and the bed was incredibly comfortable! We can thoroughly recommend staying here!

This is a large and quiet house in a rural setting. It has a spacious and beautiful lounge and we stayed in the larger bedroom (pictured) and it was fantastic! Highly recommend the upgrade. The breakfast is very good and there is a lot to choose from. Ian, the host, is very engaging and he made our stay extra special. You need a car when you stay here because it would be a long walk into town. It is a great place to stay if visiting Cawdor Castle or Culloden.

We booked 2 nights here in 2 different rooms (the 4 poster was not available the first night). The hosts were fantastic and are doing a great job with the upkeep of the huge house & gardens! Everywhere was very clean & well presented. The jacuzzi bath and jet shower was very good! The red squirrels jumping about the garden was lovely to watch. Lovely walks from the garden into the woods. Breakfast was freshly made to order, high quality produce.

A wonderful gem of a house and the couple who own and operate it. All accommodations are first class. Stayed there with my two brothers while on a "tasting tour". Cannot say enough good things. This place is a peaceful well kept home. Breakfast in the dining room was regal. I'll be back!

Lovely, renovated, historic, estate home and the couple running it were superb. The Scottish breakfast was wonderful, and the bed and pillows were glorious. The bathroom was immaculate. Definitely recommend staying here and we will again if we come back this way.

From arriving at the door, Ian was warm, friendly, inviting and welcoming. He helped us with our luggage and showed us to our room. He explained where everything was and how to use everything. There were a couple of issues in the bathroom, which Ian pointed out to us, but nothing major and did not bother our stay. These are being dealt with over the winter period. The house it beautiful, inside and out. The decor is in keeping with the house and the gardens are secluded, with plenty of parking. Everywhere is immaculately clean and tidy. There is a lounge you can use but no TV in there but there is one in your room. Good choice of breakfast, both continental and cooked and really nice. My husband said the Black pudding was the best he had ever had. Be aware that breakfast is around a large dining table with other guests. Again not a problem for ourselves as we are sociable people and chatted with other guests. Ian also gave us ideas of where to visit and where to avoid. The house is a little out of Nairn, but for us this was not a problem having the car. Although finding somewhere local to eat can be a problem. We ate out before returning for the night. Beds and pillows are really comfy and we slept well. The room had all we needed including toiletries and towels. If anything a small fridge would have been handy. We loved our stay and would definately stay again. Can not recommend highly enough.

We made a 1500 mile tour of Scotland and stayed in many B&Bs and Hotels, Carnach House was the most comfortable and provided the best cooked breakfast. More importantly; the host (Ian) understood our needs with regard the classics we were driving. In the months prior to our arrival I had asked Ian several questions and not only did he have the patience to answer every single question Ian also provided us with a number of roadbooks from local classic navigational rally events, so we could be prepared for our tour of the area. We opted for a two night stay and Ian went out of his way to provide a roadbook on the first evening of our stay that started from Carnach House and took us across c.100 miles of tight twisty roads that we would never have found without his help and guidance. For anyone contemplating a stay at Carnach House with a classic car, I would thoroughly recommend you contact Ian before your arrival and he will aimost certainly help guide you on the superb roads the area has to offer. During our stay I discovered an oil leak on the gearbox of my MGB and Ian recommended a local garage, they placed my car onto a high-lift and the mechanics took great care to check oil levels, topped it up and did not even charge me, they were simply pleased to have something different to work on. Carnach House is a superbly luxurious stay and any future trips we have to Scotland will find us making a further booking.
