Everything is very nice, especially we are surprised that the Ryokan serves kids' menu with beautiful dishes. The onsen is superb, and not so crowded. We are served by staff who can speak fluent English and it has no difficulty in communication. The Ryokan is a bit far, but it made the stay very peaceful & quiet.

We stayed here during a two-day ski trip. I found this inn very appealing, especially since I had never seen it on social media. There are only a few rooms, so it was quiet and very comfortable. We were worried about which one to choose, but we stayed at "Kiri," which has an open-air bath in the room, and it was better than we expected, so we took a bath five times (lol). We'll definitely come back here again! We've been saying that ever since we got back. However, we didn't get a plan that included dinner, so we were hoping to eat at a nearby restaurant, but all the restaurants closed early, so we were left without food, which was a bit of a downside^^; Next time we stay, we'll make sure to make a reservation for meals!! The inn itself was really nice and the best. Thank you for your hospitality.

The facilities and service are the best. All the staff who serve you are friendly. It is not in a tourist complex with many tourists, but is in a quiet mountain, so you can enjoy plenty of leisure time. You can't even see foreigners. Without question the highlight of our 2 week trip to Japan. We were lucky to catch the first snow of the season in mid December and the views were unbelievable. Service, cleanliness, and qualify of the meals were all top notch. All things considered, my partner ranked dinner here above a 2 Michelin star course we did in Tokyo. Shima onsen Yoshimoto is such a unique experience that it's in a league of its own from our other activities in Japan. We will definitely cherish this memory. An icing on the cake, they also granted my special request for a birthday cake wonderfully. In terms of transportation, we took the limited-express train from Tokyo, which was straightforward and can be reserved ahead of time online. Would absolutely recommend!

Fantastic experience! To spend a night in a rustic (albeit with some medernities like AC, fridge and so on) is a must when in Japan. The stay in Yoshimoto was a very pleasurable example of such a place. The room we stayed in was spacious and there was a wide selection of spirits and craft beer available for roomservice. They have a public onsen for each gender and a gender mixed that you can have for yourself (30min max). The former are split into both inside/outside, and the gender mixed is inside. We were here in late june, and while it was around 27c outside, it was still very nice to relax in the extremely hot onsen water. The highlight of the stay is the kaiseki dinner though. Chef Nakada Tetuyuki is a master at his craft! The staff is also very nice and accommodating. In summary, a very pleasurable stay!

This is a lovely 'boutique hotel' in an absolutely beautiful part of the area north of Nakanojo near Lake Okushima. I wanted a truly Japanese place and I got it. Few, if any, 'foreigners' in the area. I was provided a bike and road around for 3 hours. The owner is a beautiful, kind lady and her and her staff treated me like a king. I had a room with a private hot spring pool - all I can say is "wow". If you want to see a place off the beaten track, I highly recommend this hotel.
