Mercure Nanchang Tengwang Pavilion

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. Tengwang Pavilion scenic area is right downstairs, and the view from our window was an unbeatable ocean (or river, if it's a river, could also say 'waterfront') view. The night scenery was incredibly beautiful. Downstairs is very lively with lots of food options. The hotel itself is decorated very grandly, and the furniture design in both the lobby and the room is beautiful with excellent quality. The bedding was super comfortable, and everything was clean. The hot water pressure was great. The service from the front desk staff, both the handsome guys and the beautiful ladies, was excellent. This was a really wonderful stay, and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The location is absolutely perfect for families with kids. The hotel is directly opposite Tengwang Pavilion, so you just cross the road and you're at the attraction. This means no rushing back and forth when visiting Tengwang Pavilion with children. The Dashiyuan Food Street is also just a short walk away, making dining very convenient. In the evening, you can enjoy the night view of Tengwang Pavilion and Bayi Bridge right from your room. The breakfast offers both Western and Chinese options, including Nanchang's local specialties like mixed noodles and clay pot soup, which even kids will enjoy. On weekends, breakfast is served until 11 am, so you don't have to rush to wake up early with the little ones. The front desk staff are warm and patient, always ready to answer any questions. I highly recommend this hotel for families visiting Nanchang!

After comparing many hotels, I chose this one because I was just passing through Nanchang and wanted something with good value for money. It turned out to be pretty good! I arrived quite late, but the staff member was still very friendly. The hotel's cleanliness was also good, and right across the street is the Gan River, which felt very expansive. The location is also excellent, not far from Hama Street and Dashiyuan.

Absolutely NOT recommended! The hygiene is superficial and sloppy, the service experience is terrible, completely unworthy of the brand's reputation. I chose to stay here because of the Mercure brand and its location near Tengwang Pavilion, but the overall experience was a huge disappointment. Neither the hygiene details nor the basic service met the standards expected of a chain hotel. I'm very disappointed, definitely won't come again, and don't recommend it to anyone else. First, the hygiene in the public areas is very poor. You can see stains and dust everywhere on the floor and in the corners of the hotel's work areas, tidied up very carelessly. The overall environment looks dirty, messy, and old, completely lacking the cleanliness of a high-end chain hotel. Daily cleaning seems to be virtually non-existent. The most unacceptable part is the bathroom hygiene in the guest room, which is the most critical standard for hotel accommodation, yet it was handled terribly. Upon check-in, I noticed the bathroom walls were covered with dense black spots. At first, I thought they were inherent stains on the wall that couldn't be cleaned. However, when I touched them while showering, the black spots came right off. They were clearly accumulated dirt and mold from long-term neglect, and housekeeping had obviously not wiped or cleaned them at all. The cleaning was extremely perfunctory. Furthermore, there was a thick layer of dust clearly visible on top of the showerhead. Corner hygiene was completely ignored. It's evident that housekeeping just went through the motions and didn't clean thoroughly or meticulously. The hygiene details were full of flaws, making the stay very uncomfortable and completely lacking a sense of security. Besides the hygiene issues, the hotel service was also very mediocre. There was no thoughtful service throughout, and the staff's attitude was bland and passive. The location certainly has an advantage, but the core aspects of accommodation – hygiene and service – are completely substandard. Paying the corresponding price for a stay here, you get sloppy hygiene and perfunctory service, which makes it extremely poor value for money. I sincerely advise anyone looking for a clean and comfortable stay to think twice. The quality control and management of this hotel are truly concerning.

Pros: 1. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Tengwang Pavilion, and next to Dashiyuan. If you're traveling and don't need to take the subway, staying here is very convenient. 2. Management and training are spot on; all the front desk staff were very polite, well-mannered, and had great attitudes. 3. Breakfast is quite substantial, and parking is free if you register your license plate. Areas for improvement: The Ctrip order page stated 'Pavilion View Room' and 'River View Room'. Upon check-in, I was told it offers views of the 'adjacent pavilion' and the 'river'. This feels a bit like playing with words. It would be better to be clear and avoid making it seem like a deception. If you can see Tengwang Pavilion, say so; if not, then state that.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! Our room overlooked the Gan River and a side pavilion of Tengwang Pavilion, making it incredibly convenient for visiting the pavilion. We could also walk to Dashiyuan in just 5 minutes. The breakfast spread was excellent, offering a great variety of dishes that catered to both northern and southern tastes. The clay pot soup, in particular, was delicious! Plus, breakfast being served until 11 AM was a real blessing for us late risers. And the service, as expected from a HUAZHU Group hotel, was consistently excellent.

This hotel is conveniently located near Tengwang Pavilion, making it very easy to walk back after an evening visit. For breakfast, you can explore the snack stalls at Dashiyuan and try some local specialties!

Very good. From the hotel entrance, you can see the 'falling glow' reminiscent of the famous line 'the evening glow and lone wild duck fly together.' The hotel directly faces Tengwang Pavilion, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery right from your window. The night view of Tengwang Pavilion is even more stunning!
