Nanjing Tulou Wenchanglou Homestay

Located within one of the younger, rebuilt tulou, the homestay was everything I needed. Although there was no ensuit, the nearby public washroom was of acceptable cleanliness and the hosts let me use their well equipped shower. The room had everything I needed, including a coat rack, chair, TV. WiFi was fast and everything worked well. Thank you for having me!

An excellent experience if you want the simple Tulou experience, living like a local in a proper village. The owner was also super nice and helpful when I got lost or needed to get somewhere. I highly recommend it for the adventurous types.

When the tourists go home and we just hang around watching the residents go about their daily lives, farming, drying vegetables, making chinese sausages (we visited in Dec), cooking, just hanging around chatting- it felt like the outside world does not exist. It rained when we were here and the mist and clouds amongst the hills was breathtaking. We stayed 2 days LOVED it. They do have one shower at the Tulou for us guests and modern toilets outside the building. It did not bother my kids to not have attached toilets. The rooms were clean and comfortable and my son loved climbing up the ladder to sleep in the "attic" room.

Cool spot to stay in a tulou. The owners are friendly and cook food as well. Be aware that there is no toilet in the room or on the floor, you have to go to the public toilets outside. In a good location with some shops nearby and not far from the bus stop

amazing experience! the hosts were very nice and tried to talk to us. they showed us everything. the bathroom was outside of tulou and shower was downstairs, but the atmosphere overall was magical
