Nice location , checked in instruction is clear enough provided by the house owner ( redeem from restaurant ).

Location is perfect, but keep couple things in mind. For all rooms with shared bathroom. There is only 1 toilet to use which is equiped with one of the showers. This shower is the only decent shower stall from all 6 showers with enough space to put your towel or clothing etc. The other douche stalls are equiped with a hook, but your clothing gets wet.  For the rest the rooms were fine for me, but the beds are quite hard. Also the window doesnt block any noise from outside. Which is quite annoying in the beginning of the evening when there is still traffic on the street. But price quality is alright in my opinion, you get what you pay for!

Nice guesthouse on Ida Thao side of the lake. Note the place is not a manned desk so you go to the hot pot shop to the left of the guesthouse (I found this out from reading other reviews as we weren’t sent any check-in info in advance) and they will check you in. Be aware if you are getting into SML from elsewhere by bus and you arrive after about 5pm it will be difficult to get to Ida Thao as the bus terminal is the opposite side at Shuise and the last ‘round the lake bus’ leaves at about 5pm and it’s not walkable. We got a coach from Taipei which broke down so we weren’t able to get to SML until almost 9pm and actually had to book somewhere in Shuise last minute instead for the first night. Trip.com says this place has a ‘taxi booking service’ however this isn’t the case when we enquired. The actual guesthouse is nice, spacious and just next to the food street and few mins walks to the pier.

The prices are affordable, so don’t ask for too much. You can move in if you have accommodation budget. It is a public bathroom, so pay attention to the bathing time and avoid waiting too long. There is a water dispenser available, which is very convenient. It is not convenient to go to the toilet. There is only one room and it needs to be shared with others. Thank you very much for giving us a family room, but one of the beds was too soft and I couldn't get used to it.

Average, pretty ok, no equipment or services required, sound insulation equipment is too poor, so it's fine to stay for one night

The location of Sunflower Hostel is very good, near Ita Thao Pier. The surrounding consumption functions are very sound, making it easy to find food. The price is reasonable, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and great value for money.

The price is cheap, the interior is homely, and there are no shops but it is convenient. It is about 200 meters away from the snack street. The boat ride is in the snack street. If you come on holiday, there is a PUB behind the B&B. If you are drunk, you can take a few steps to rest.

Much like a traditional early business hotel, a 2-person room was given to a 4-person room, and the quilt on one bed was very smelly. There are not too many decorations in the room, there is no refrigerator, and there is a large water dispenser outside the room, but the hot water for bathing is very large. There is no parking lot, you can only park on the street or pay a fee. But the house price is relatively cheap, the location is close to the shopping street, and it is very convenient for dining and shopping.

Next to the window, there is plenty of space for luggage. There is a small table for drinking tea and chatting. The bathroom is also spacious and not humid.

Check-in takes place without service staff or reception. You should contact a number to get more information, but they don't answer. We went to the restaurant next door and got help from the Chinese hot pot owner for check-in. With a smartphone and a translator, it worked quickly. The room and the furniture are quite old and the bed is rock hard. The location in Ita Tao is central and it only takes 2 minutes to get to the streets with many food stalls. It is difficult to get a parking space in the town as it is currently under renovation. There is no private parking space. There was a water dispenser, but no microwave.

This has been my countless stay. In the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area, the most expensive place in Taiwan, I can stay overnight for less than 1,000 yuan. How can I not be satisfied? It’s cheaper than the campsites in the camping area, and it has air-conditioning, a TV, and more channels than a five-star hotel. It’s the best accommodation option if you want to visit Sun Moon Lake without spending a lot of money.
