The Lalu Sun Moon Lake

The staff were all incredibly friendly; the restaurant servers even remembered our preferences. The hot spring (sanctuary/spa) also boasts stunning lake views – it's a must-try. The room was very spacious, and I could enjoy tea on the balcony while admiring the beautiful scenery. I will definitely come back if I have the chance.

The location is fantastic, and the overall environment is superb. The infinity pool, in particular, offers breathtaking views, making the pool water blend seamlessly with the Sun Moon Lake. Combined with the blue sky and mountain scenery, it creates a beautiful landscape painting. The service attitude of every staff member is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome.

The views are absolutely stunning, and the staff are wonderful. But for such an expensive hotel, why is the hairdryer so terrible? It would be even better if they just put a little effort into small equipment upgrades.

The hotel's location and design are truly exceptional, and it was one of my favorite parts of this Sun Moon Lake trip. It boasts breathtaking views of Sun Moon Lake, and its overall design is understated, elegant, and imbued with an Oriental aesthetic. Even after all these years, the architecture and space itself remain visually appealing, creating a wonderful ambiance. The service also maintains a high standard; the staff are professional and attentive, making for a very comfortable stay. The only noticeable issue is that the in-room hardware is definitely due for an upgrade. Especially nowadays, with travelers needing to charge phones, laptops, cameras, and other devices, it's hard to find conveniently located power outlets in the room. This feels somewhat incongruous with the hotel's overall positioning. Overall, the location, views, design, and service are still outstanding, especially the quiet and elegant atmosphere which is hard to replicate. If the in-room hardware and electrical facilities could be upgraded in the future, the entire experience would be even more complete.

I stayed at The Lalu for two nights and had an excellent experience. The environment was serene with breathtaking views, and the room was clean and tidy. The staff provided attentive and thoughtful service. Everything was impeccable, highly recommended!

Every year, I take my parents to Sun Moon Lake, and this time I was really looking forward to staying at The Lalu. Although we had dinner at the hotel's Chinese restaurant, the noise from a nearby private room significantly impacted our dining experience. Aside from that, all the hotel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The reservation staff were very thorough in their explanation before our trip, but they didn't mention that some limited-edition dishes in the restaurant needed to be pre-ordered, which left me quite disappointed during dinner. Afterwards, due to various issues with our Chinese restaurant dining experience, a hotel manager personally stepped in to appease and resolve the situation. This showed that the five-star hotel truly maintained its high standards in customer service. I would definitely consider staying here again if I have the chance.

The location is superb, and the architectural design has great bones—still beautiful despite its age and weathered charm. However, the restaurants are quite mediocre; the Chinese restaurant doesn't have a single private dining room, and for a luxury hotel, it feels more like a casual, everyday eatery. It falls far short of the dining options at the Lalu next door.
