The hotel was not good. The over all vibe is old and not clean. I feel like this is not like a hotel but a mom and pop. There were karaoke near the hotel, the music was loud and they sang from 5pm to 10pm….. can’t go to bed early after a long day….. I probably won’t book this hotel again. One day tour at Sun moon Lake is good enough.

The hotel is close to the lake and Main Street, parking lot takes 5 minutes walk from hotel but overall is ok.

Very nice hotel. Hosts are friendly and helpful. The room has a very nice view facing the lake. Bfast is fine. Walk only few minutes to the food and souvenirs area.

From the beginning, it was far too disorganized. We arrived at the hotel and they couldn’t find my reservation. The lady at the front desk, who didn’t speak a single word of English, showed me a handwritten notebook and wanted me to look for my own name in it—written in Chinese. Communication with the staff was impossible. They should have at least basic training to communicate in English, especially since this is quite a touristy destination. We arrived around 10 a.m., and the room wasn’t ready, so we left our things. We could barely choose the room we wanted. Surprise! When we came back to check in, the room we had chosen was no longer available. So they gave us the other one. The shower didn’t work and only a few weak streams came out. A kind gentleman showed us another room, but it was of a lower category than the one we had booked. It was not a very pleasant experience, especially after staying in places with true service-oriented hospitality. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re staying in Sun Moon Lake. There are much nicer hotels around.

Good location on Sun Moon Lake. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was somewhat limited.

Location was nice, walking distance from Idashao Jetty. Room booked was all lake view double suite, quite disappointed with the space, but the lake view is still great (no balcony) Towel and other stuffs are not provided for free, they got a price list for it, so its better to prepare small towel when visit. (hair dryer provided) Services was great, very nice and kind to customers. Breakfast provided, it was buffet form of local dishes (porridges and sides, with drinks as well) Overall Rating 7.5/10, its a great place to stay, but might not visit again in a mean time.

This property is also with the name Sun Moon lake waterfront resort. Please read the recent reviews and don’t get fooled by the rating as this hotel has probably playing with different names for rating. We stayed at the high floor lakeside view room 604@5. This is the worst room as the whole room is not functional for guests. Its walks and roof are all reflecting making it very weird. This room is make full golden and is very cringy design. The bathroom is full open and you can never have a comfort of a closed space . There is no towel rack , no place to keep shower head , the soap dispenser is far so you have to walk out or the shower are la etc..when asked for a change of room they showed the top room with a balcony which was definitely better but instead of giving it as a service they wanted to charge us more for it 70 USD more per night which is ridiculous. As we had checked in late night we asked whether can cut short by 1 night and we will find another hotel for the next night. Initially they agreed but next day at breakfast they said they can’t cancel, going back on their own word. The breakfast is absolutely for peasants not worth staying here Also the rooms are next to a market which has late night music and rooms are not sound proof at all

Staffs were so nice

The cleanliness of the room was unsatisfactory, particularly the bathroom, which had an unpleasant odor. Furthermore, the service provided by the front desk was below expectations. Despite booking for two nights, we received a call from the front office after the first night, asking us to check out due to a clerical error on their part. Even after realizing their mistake, no apology was extended to us. Additionally, the disparity between the photographs shared online and the actual conditions of the hotel was significant. While Sun Moon Lake is a wonderful destination worth exploring, the substandard experience provided by this hotel could potentially mar your overall experience.
