Hotels near Year of Steps at Wenwu Temple in Nantou

The location is good, the room is large and clean, there is a bathtub for taking a bath, the breakfast is beautiful, the food court and the ferry port are just downstairs, it is very leisurely to take a walk in the evening, I will stay again next time, highly recommended

The best part about this hotel (国民賓館) is its location. Bus 6664, 6658, 6659 all stop less than 80m from its entrance if you're using Nantou bus. It's along the main road which is easy for pickups if you're joining local day or night tours. Across the road from Little Swiss Garden. Even Cingjing Farm has signs along its walking paths directing visitors to the hotel. The other main benefit was that the room rates I paid on Trip.com included a pair of tickets to Green Green Grassland, Little Swiss Garden and a discounted ticket (only need top up 30TWD each) to the Cingjing Skywalk - pleasantly surprised to know this only at check-in although I knew beforehand that the room rates included basic Chinese breakfast for 2, which was another convenient point for guests. The hotel buildings and room was a bit dated, no aircon since the weather in the evening and morning is cooling. But the room, bed, utilensils and toilet were clean. The view from the room balcony and hotel garden was nice to view sunset.

Nice lakeside view in the hotel room, and you can see the sunrise from the room balcony. The room has a heater so you can turn it on if you are cold. Breakfast selections are quite ok, but seats are quite limited.

Have been to this property and it was an amazing stay for one night. Hotel looks are like European cottages made of wood. Rooms are also nice. Location is just 2 min walk to Swiss garden and really convenient as there is a 7eleven around and also shuttle bus stop. Cleanliness: Hotel rooms and the whole place is quite neet and clean. Service: Awesome, staff was really helpful with everything and they even allow us early checkin which was much appreciated as we were travelling with a 2 year old. Food: Nice breakfast and they even cooked some vegetarian food for lunch. Have happy hour where serve tea and snacks which will be enough for dinner. Overall this property is owned by The Old England Manor which is another best hotels in town and they maintain the same service here as well. This should be a 4 star hotel instead of 3 star.

In Xitou Forest, it is only ranked first, not second. This time I stayed in the university building. The building is located closest to the driveway exit. The building is divided into four buildings abcd. They all have two floors and no elevators. However, they have stairs and ramps. If you have too much or heavy luggage or have difficulty moving, you can still go directly. It's not too inconvenient to drive up to the top to load and unload luggage. We stayed in the innermost room in Building B this time. There was no noise and we couldn't hear the noise from next door. There was just the hum of the engine outside the air conditioner outside the window. You can still hear a little bit even if the windows are closed, so those who care are advised to wear earplugs. The room has an extra large double bed and a regular double bed, a coffee table and two chairs, a TV, a clothes rack, a pantry and a refrigerator. The space is okay. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry areas, and the shower side is a bit narrow. I was a little embarrassed to use a bathtub and a chair to help my four-year-old son bathe. I had to be careful about hitting my head when turning around or holding the child. The items are all clean, tidy and practical. You can also borrow beds, bathtubs, chairs and stools. This season, it is very comfortable at night without air conditioning. The beds also come with electric blankets, which were preheated when we entered the room, but we didn't use them. So it was turned off. Breakfast is served at the Yunshan Building opposite until 9:30, and hotel guests can participate in free nightly guided tours.

I am 1/25 staying in the double room on 606 and smelled a very strong smell of smoke as soon as I entered it. It was like the smell of smoke in KTV. Now, please ask the housekeeping staff to help deal with it. Because I have a one-year-old baby, I am very concerned about this problem. The housekeeping said that they have used the ozone machine. And said that they would take the ozone machine again, but the ozone machine could not be in it. I would like to ask us the time period we spent money to stay in, but people can't be in it. Then the baby wants to sleep at this time, so we don't know where to take the baby to sleep and then ask the room after an hour. The condition of the room. A male housekeeping attitude was very bad. He said, ”I took the ozone machine away. The window was opened for ventilation first. You wait for half an hour before going in and seeing if there is any smell.” It really makes people feel very bad. We don't think it's the uncle who spends money, but just wants to There is a good sleeping environment and we are very polite to trouble housekeeping because we know that it is very hard to work during the Chinese New Year. Great location as the hotel is right in the center of the Ita Thao town where you can easily walk to the lake, pier, hiking/bike trail, and foodie places. Hotel staff are very friendly and willing to help every step if asked. The high floor suite is sizable with fairly large jacuzzi tub and shower room. A private balcony provides a partial view to the lake. Free designated parking garage is a plus in a crowded town. The lake view however is partially blocked by some apartments in front but the hotel is still close to the water front. The hotel building, incl room, furnitures and decorations, does show some age and is about right to have its current star rating and price. We definitely enjoyed the stay.

Visited sun moon lake and held a small bday party in the room. Spacious room for balloons! The room still has plenty spaces even with two of my 1.5m number balloons. Balcony is perfect for Instagram shots, better use flashlight or else the background is lighter than your face. When we visited in December, there weren't much rain so a part of the lake close to the hotel is just muddy and brown, so just adjust the camera angle and your picture will still look nice. Close to the harbour, convenience stores, and the souvenir street. It has a huge parking lot 3 min away from the hotel, rmb to bring an umbrella in case it pours mid way. Elevators large enough to fit in a family of five with suitcases. The staff was nice and check us in efficiently. Tea and snacks are provided, and rooms are clean. They locate my granny's room next to us - really appreciate this. Overall, 10 out of 10. I'll definitely stay here next time I visit Taiwan. Btw I visited back in 2020/12 not 2021/12, trip advisor didn't provide me the option to choose 2020.

Stayed many times, good quality and low price, youth activity center, quiet environment, great air in the morning, pets are not allowed in the room! If you live in a log cabin, you may get up early in the morning and meet cute and mischievous monkeys. You can also climb the mountain next to it and there are many beautiful butterflies. You can eat enough with a simple breakfast, and the things in the welfare agency are very cheap.

Hotel room was quite big, the view of the lake was awesome, but the view for the sunrise was on the left side, so the sunrise time was 5:10am that day but till 6:30am then able to see the Sun on the left side. Near the boat riding area, 5 minutes walk to the bus stop and 7-11 store.
