Carneros Resort and Spa

I have been going to Carneros Resort for the past 20 years, and it just gets better with age. The hospitality exhibited by all employees was over the top. My room was spotless, food outstanding, and entire resort was just wonderful. It was nice to be in a relaxed yet refined environment. Best staff in the wine country! While I didn't get a chance to try some of the new experiences, they all looked great, and I can't wait to try on my next visit. Why would I stay anywhere else.

Our family of four, including two young children, stayed for a few days during Thanksgiving 2023, and we loved everything about Carneros, starting with the warm and friendly reception. Our 5-year-old especially enjoyed the Gnome scavenger hunt around the property, which was a perfect way to explore the grounds. Her prize at the end was a cookie from the onsite shop, and since our visit, she has been asking to return—she now associates Napa with fun and exploration, thanks to Carneros. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which was ideal for our family. It’s made up of two individual cottages connected by a large deck in a private backyard, giving us both the space and privacy we needed while still being able to keep an eye on the kids. One evening, we had dinner at FARM, but the experience was just okay. Unfortunately, our server was cold and seemed uninterested in making us feel welcome. The only other downsides were the distance from wineries (at least the ones we visited) and the musty smell in our kids’ room. However, we can’t wait to return to Carneros overall!

My wife and I were welcomed so warmly from everyone at Carneros. Right from the moment we walked through the door. The hospitality was absolutely amazing. We got in early and enjoyed the absolute stunning view from the hillside pool while our room was prepared. The staff on the hillside are incredibly available while also careful to not break your sense of relaxation. The rooms are a balance of true farmhouse and high tech cottages that compliment the entire property. Transporting you into the world they have created. The vegetables that our grown on site that you can pluck off the vine only add to the visceral experience. Attending a wedding was a wonderful way to experience the venue. It transformed to such a vibe. The ceremony, the dinner and the dance floor set on a Napa hillside is something I truly recommend experiencing. 10/10 Would come back to this resort.

Carneros is a large resort located about 10 minutes outside the town of Napa on 28 acres. It is a beautiful property. We visited with another couple. We stayed in dual cottages that share a private patio. The rooms were lovely each with a fireplace, small fridge and very comfortable beds and pillows. The cottage was clean and comfortable. It has everything we needed including a wine bottle opener and glasses. The exercise facility is very nice with excellent equipment and free weights. The grounds are beautiful with many places that offered photo opportunities. We watched sunrise every morning from the Hilltop pool and restaurant. Breakfast is included and served at the Hilltop restaurant. It was a very nice spread with meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, oatmeal, pasties, quiches, and bagel with locks. Service was attentive and helpful. The property has 3 restaurants onsite, Hilltop, FARM, and Boon Fly. We ate at all of them. There were all very good. The staff at Carneros was very attentive. They were constantly opening the doors for us in the common areas and were always willing to answer any question. They also have a very nice market on-site that caries all sorts of food, goods, and gifts. It is expensive and I’m not sure it’s worth the actual price we paid but it was a very nice property. This

This is a difficult review. It's a spectacular property. It's just not what I expected - at all, it's not my style, it felt more like glamping. AND to be fair, I can see where this might be a 4 star or better to others, it's just not to me. The room pictures are a bit generous. I found the room to be small, missing several amenities and the indoor/outdoor shower had some big fat bugs crawling in and out which is something I don't really love. It was like a tiny cottage but the use of so much flouted tin almost tips it into a feeling of shantytown. It had a small outdoor area with a soaking tub, lounger chairs and fireplace. Didn't really use it. The property layout is much like a mini community. Little hubs or five or six cottages each. It seems like there was wedding after wedding and event on event, clearly it's a destination for events. The property overall is cinematic, vineyards and hills of greenery. Very well appointed. The pool is very popular, music weekends very active. They have about cabanas. Pricey, about $600. The food overall was good. Lots of clean, garden grown produce. Very accommodating to menu requests. There are three or four restaurants that are nearly exactly the same menu, with a few different twists, that I suspect come out of one main kitchen. There is one restaurant I think Farm, that is more independent and that meal was superb. We had a few minor communication issues and room issues but they were resolved easily and quickly. If you love an outdoorsy feel, you might really love this property. I'm more of a four seasons customer and did not think this was really quite on par for fine hotel and resort, however, disclaiming this once again, I do see that for some people it could be. The location certainly is terrific for wineries and tastings.

We had a wonderful stay at Carneros. We booked a two bedroom residence on a whim for the 4th of July through Amex FHR. We had a memorable time with family and friends. The unit was beautiful and impeccably cleaned. I can’t commend Carneros staff enough for the excellent customer service and amazing hospitality we experienced. Every single person was kind and welcoming. Special shout out to Estephanie and team at the Hilltop Pool and Restaurant. They took such great care of us, even during a heatwave! They never faltered in the level of service they provided. We can’t wait to return and are considering making this an annual 4th tradition. Thank you Carneros Resort team!
