We spent four nights at La Residence. It was a perfect choice for us. Comfortable spacious room, great breakfast, lovely helpful staff. From the hotel, we walked everywhere we wanted to go. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Narbonne.

Simply put, whenever I'm next called upon to revisit Narbonne - which I hope is soon - I'll not hesitate to rebook at Le Résidence. A Haussmannian town house reviewed and corrected for the 21st century - the contemporary touches enhance the modest elegance - it's bang central, moments from everything you need to see or visit. And the welcome is warmly first class. Breakfast is good, too. As I said, I'll not be hesitating.

A friendly receptionist checked us in, and showed us nearby attractions and restaurants on a map she gave us. The hotel is well-located, close to everything. The room was small, and we were greeted with a sufficatingly strong odor of peach air freshener. But, when we opened the window, there was no screen, allowing mosquitoes to fly in. Upon opening the desk drawer, the front of the drawer fell off. When I closed the door to the shower, the upper hinge came loose. Would not recommend this hotel.

We were in Narbonne for only a single evening before boarding a 7-night cruise down the Canal du Midi and Hotel La Residence stood out as the best hotel listed on Trip Advisor...and clearly it is the best in Narbonne! This beautiful old hotel is exceptionally well maintained with a beautiful lobby area, fantastic staircases, comfortable breakfast rooms and lovely meeting chamber on the first floor. The rooms, like all hotels in Europe, are smaller compared to American hotel rooms, but still spacious and have every amenity that anyone could want. The rooms are tidy, comfortable and light. The bathrooms are roomy with modern fixtures and everything one needs. Breakfast at the hotel was delightful, with a full range of excellent options. And the staff was beyond accommodating....they helped us with all of our bags, greeting us and arranging our check in and made sure that everything was to our liking. A really excellent experience. Definitely this is the best hotel in Narbonne and clearly is the only place I would ever stay if visiting Narbonne. Thank you for taking such great care of us!!

For starters the hotel states that it is a 3-Star property, so keep that in mind when considering booking. Having said that Hotel La Residence provided exactly what we were looking for: good location and comfortable rooms. A group of 5 of us were here for a night before embarking on a barge cruise of the Canal du Midi. 2 of us arrived early and, while we were able to check in, our room wasn't quite ready so we left our things and went for lunch and to explore Narbonne. Our friends arrived, checked in and, after a short while, we went for dinner. When we came back the hotel front door was locked, but we had the code and got in. We had a great night's sleep and heard a little noise, but nothing that would have kept us awake. The following morning we had breakfast (additional fee), checked out and left our things since our pickup time wasn't until 4:00 p.m. with no issues. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and welcoming and helped us find our way around Narbonne. The hotel is a good value and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to future travelers.
