When we got into our room, we found that the air conditioning unit was leaking and the carpet around it was soaking wet and soggy. After notifying the front desk, we were moved to another room. While the second room was better, the beds were extremely firm and there was visible black mold on the bathroom ceiling. We stayed in that room despite those conditions because we had already been inconvenienced by having to move rooms.
When we checked out, we informed the front desk staff again about the leaking air conditioning unit in the first room. She told us that, because of the leak, the room was not supposed to have been occupied at all. She also mentioned in passing that she would be glad when the remodel began so they would not have “these problems” anymore, which honestly made me wonder what other issues guests are dealing with that we did not see.
I do not like leaving negative reviews, but this stay genuinely deserved one. No guest should be placed in a room that staff already knows should be out of service, and visible mold in a replacement room is completely unacceptable.
