Within a wonderful journey througout Flores this must have been the highlight of my trip. The place is authentic, rural, it just felt like home. The surroundings of Moni are simply stunning. You just need to choose your daily favourite activity. Trekking, Site viewing, Cultural experiences, Coffee farm visit and tasting, Water Fall viewing, Swimming...ask Lopez for the best tips to enjoy your stay at its best. Food at Gecko is so genuine and testy that you will end up eating home every dinner. But the special value of your stay in Moni is definitely people. Happy people. Smiling and friendly everywhere. Always ready to offer you a coffee and share a chat with you. Lopez is one of the most passionate guy I have ever met in my life. Full of love for his land and people. He truly add a special touch to your stay. A life warrior. Highly Recommended!

Had a fabulous stay with Lopez and his team, great hospitality, fabulous bungalows on the garden , family cooking evenings and we were even invited to a ceremony down by the river . Don’t hesitate to book

I spent one night there before going to see the sunrise on Kelimutu. Each room is a little house and very well equiped. Bathroom is on the outside part and very nice. Nights are fresh so be sure to have warm clothes with you. Breakfast is very good and Lopes very friendly & kind.

We are a family of 5 and stayed at Geckos for 2 nights in the deluxe rooms. Rio and Lopez were the best hosts and we felt very welcome. Our first day we had so much fun with Rio, he took us to see the local coffee plantation, hot springs, waterfalls, and our son (8yrs) even got to play football with the local kids. Then we had an amazing family dinner - cooked over the fire. The next morning we started early to see the sun rise at Kelimutu and it was so worth it, breathtaking 🌋🌞 So thanks to the wonderful team at Gecko's, we miss you already 🙏

The owner Lopez is a really nice guy! We immediately felt more than welcome. For dinner he uses almost everything from his own garden, we also helped a little bit with the preparations, but above all we had a nice chat. Nice dinner, nice / nice house with an outdoor shower, it was really perfect for us! Departed early for the Kelimutu and then a delicious breakfast is ready. After breakfast Lopez asked if we wanted to go to the waterfall. This is only a very short piece but a difficult path because it is very steep / slippery but a very challenging route, then a fresh coconut that he picks himself from the trees, how cool!

Thanks to Lopez for his warm welcome and relaxed style. The chalets are very pleasant and tastefully furnished. The outdoor shower completes the style of the chalet. The place is quiet in a well maintained garden. The evening dinner, taken together was excellent in a beautiful atmosphere. The place is ideal for climbing the Kelimutu.

Grosse déception pour cet homestay. Difficile de trouver le propriétaire à notre arrivée et quasiment à chaque fois que nous avions besoin de lui. Les scooters réservés par téléphone n’étaient pas là. Il manquait une serviette dans la chambre, taies d’oreillers de propreté douteuse, poubelle des wc pas vidée. Attente d’1h30 pour avoir notre petit déjeuner 2 matins de suite… Au vu des bons avis, nous ne nous attendions pas à ça !

Il s'agit d'un ensemble de bungalows de bon confort, répartis sur un terrain très bien entretenu et agréable. Notre habitation était de bonne dimension, agréable, très propre, bien tenue, avec une literie très correcte. L'accueil est sympa, la table agréable. Pas de wifi dans les chambres, un seul accès à l'accueil, qui sert de restaurant. Nous devions y rester deux nuits. Malheureusement, une fête organisée dans la maison d'à-côté, à l'occasion de la première communion d'un enfant de cette maison nous a obligés de trouver une autre solution pour la seconde nuit, le boucan étant insoutenable, et le restaurant étant fermé (sans voiture, difficile de se déplacer). Ce désagrément, certes pas totalement imputable à l'hôtel, explique que nous n'avons pas attribué les 5 étoiles.
