Dear Trip.com Customer Service, I am writing to request a refund of the VAT amount that I was required to pay directly to the hotel. I made my reservation through Trip.com after being redirected from Trivago. During the booking process, the displayed price appeared to be the final price. Only upon arrival at the hotel was I informed that, as an Israeli resident, I was required to pay an additional VAT amount. The information regarding the exclusion of VAT was not presented in a clear and prominent manner during the booking process. Had this additional charge been clearly disclosed, I would have considered other booking options. I therefore request a full refund of the VAT amount that I had to pay at the hotel due to the unclear presentation of the total price. Please review my case and let me know how you intend to resolve this matter. I have the booking confirmation and the hotel receipt for the VAT payment and can provide them upon request. A 15-minute wait to enter breakfast on Friday is unacceptable for a hotel of this type. Having to go to housekeeping twice to get towels because they haven't been washed yet is unacceptable for a hotel of this type. Instant coffee from a can on Saturday is unacceptable for a hotel of this type. The room has no hairdryer, slippers, robe, ear picks, or cotton pads. The quality of cleaning in the rooms also leaves much to be desired.
