Bloomrooms @ Janpath

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It is clean, a short walk from Janpath metro station and the staff are friendly. It is also conveniently close to some key attractions. As an added benefit there is a travel consultant in the hotel who is really friendly and helpful.

Friendly staffs, good location, reasonable price, clean and easy to find.

This boutique hotel was clean and the living room outside our room was neat and stacked with some books and magazine for us to read and relax.

We wanted somewhere cheap, cheerful, clean and comfortable near Connaught Place and the Delhi railway station, but didn't want to stay in Parharganj. Bloomrooms @ Janpath was a great option. It's next to the Plaza Hotel. Rooms are small and basic but clean, and everything follows the bright yellow Bloomrooms theme. There is a room safe but no fridge in the room, however on each floor is a lounge cum library, with books, free snacks, free tea, coffee and filtered water refill, and fridges with free Schweppes soda, tonic and ginger ale. There's a very nice cafe on the first floor offering breakfast, dinner, drinks and espresso coffee from 7am until 10pm. Only a few minutes walk on Janpath road is McDonald's, The Tibetan market, Janpath night market, and the Janpath metro station. It's a out a 15 minute walk to Connaught Place. If you are taking a taxi or autorickshaw to the New Delhi railway station, allow yourself half an hour, even though it's only 10 minutes away. The traffic around the station entrance is chaotic.

Dehli and Bloomrooms were the first stop on our 3-week India tour. The hotel was clean and conveniently located within walking distance of Connaught Circle and a number of shopping and dining options. Breakfast was free and delicious and there were lots of free snacks, soda water tea and coffee readily available. The rooms were big and clean with comfortable beds and good air conditioning. They helped us make all our site seeing plans for not only Delhi but Agra and Ranthambore. I would strongly recommend this one.

Located in a lane near the Connaught Circus area, I noticed more foreign tourists rather than domestic. Prices are a bit too high for the facilities. Maybe that is a reflection of the real estate prices. Check in was smooth, but more suited to the present electronic age. The twin bed room was a huge disappointment as the beds were placed with both the occupants facing diagonally to each other. The head boards were common with beds on both sides. Only one window. Further, to access the bathroom, you had to climb one step up. As it was on the 2nd floor, hence stray dogs barking in the morning were disturbing. The room was otherwise clean. The common snack area was good with healthy snacks placed ***** with a smattering of cans containing soda (whiskey?) and tonic (where was the gin?). Though, the huge expanse of hard floor in the room without much furniture did not contribute to a good feeling. Seemed grossly unfurnished. Had to request for a change in pillow but the mattress was not very comfortable. There is no dedicated car parking. You need to leave it on the road, completely unattended. Try to park it in a slot just opposite to the hotel entrance so that it remains visible to the door***. Which is really not saying much as he was not around all the time. Breakfast was just about OK. Considering the prices, it could have been better. The idlis were a trifle hard and the vadas were under cooked. Sandwiches were not replenished. Quite disappointed, though we had booked for 2 nights, we moved out after the first. Fortunately we had made two separate bookings so cancelled within the cancellation period. We had higher expectations based on the reviews.

Room was generally clean although some details missed such as marks on the mirror, rusty bin in bathroom. Bathroom was decent although a little small. The bed itself was very clean and comfortable for a good night's sleep. My room was on top floor and frequently there was a very loud banging noise from the roof even during the night. Assume it was machinery related to plumbing or air con. Breakfast provided was good and eggs were available for order as per requirements.
