Hotel Ajanta

For one night perfect.

I sent a few nights in couple and they organised a package tour in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It was my first package travel. They did a wonderful job. The driver Rajeev was very good, Jack and Zoohor perfect professionals in organising everything and anticipating problems. Wonderful trip. Bravo Ajanta!! It is the second time I stay in the hotel and it is already my reference in Delhi. All the staff is very nice and premises are clean!

The pre-holiday communications were confused at best as they sent a taxi to pick us up the day before! That said, he did turn up as expected, but, in typical Indian fashion (they try to rip you off everywhere) I was excepted to pay the parking charge at the airport (which doesn’t make it a free airport pick-up). The room was ok, but dated with the bathroom stuck in the 1980s! It really wasn’t pretty (like the view). The air con wasn’t the best either. Was the stay ok? Just. Would I stay here again? No. Fork out a bit more and stay somewhere more up market.

The people of the hotel stole two of our suitcases. When we were leaving they make a big confusion moving the luggage to the car, and when we got to the airport suitcases were missing. We called the front desk and ***ager and they covered each other with lies.

Didn't stay at the hotel but went to its restaurant, Saffron 5 times while we were in Delhi. Every time, the food and service was excellent. The waiters always found us a table. The portions are enormous with a great choice of Indian and Western food- we had Indian dishes (biryani was fab as well as parathas) as well as pizza/a burger which was delicious. Everything was freshly cooked, very nicely presented and very reasonably priced including the bottled water. Would highly recommend!

Too much expensive and they don't have nothing. Room are very poor room are cold ac not working. Breakfast very poor and very small for all guests and cakes you need to pay extras. Staff rude only 3 was nice all rest not Too much noise day and night

This is our second visit to the Hotel Ajanta. The first was was when we first arrived in Delhi a month ago and we enjoyed our stay with the exception of the the noise outside our room which I understand is not the fault of the hotel. 1st photo was taken at 11pm and the 2nd at 6:30am. The food is excellent and good value for money and the breakfast included in the room rate is a very good buffet. The rooms are clean and there is as much hot water in the en suite as you could need. However, when I checked out I reserved a room for our return to Delhi the night before our flight. I requested a different room, a luxury family room and was assured it would be ready for us on our return. When we returned to Hotel Ajanta 24 days later we checked in and after enquiring if the room I asked for was free I was told it was so we gave our passports and paid for the room, then given a key and after having a late breakfast we’re taken to our room. The same room we had before that I didn’t want. I went back downstairs to see the ***ager but couldn’t find him. When I challenged a member of staff I was told there were no other family rooms available. After chatting with my family we decided not to make a fuss- but now it is 10pm, we have a long journey tomorrow to the UK and then a 5 hour drive to get home. The noise outside sounds like a scrap yard, hammering on metal and metal being cut with a grinder, the noise and traffic is terrible. It’s now gone 10:30pm and still going on. Don’t get me wrong- the hotel is ok and the food is excellent but I am more than a little disappointed the request I put in nearly a month ago was not fulfilled and when I raised my concerns no alternative was offered. Had was given the room I asked for I would now be asleep and not still be awake and writing a less than positive review. You’ll see from my other reviews I’m not hard to please and don’t complain unnecessarily. Al Pachino(AKA) requested I leave a review but I rather suspect now it would be preferable I hadn’t. I’m also sure the response will be ***** the lines of a misunderstanding but you can be assured I made myself perfectly clear on more than one occasion. The scrap yard opposite the hotel stopped making a noise soon after midnight and I then got to sleep. I now have a 24 hour journey ahead of me with a 6 hour drive at the end of it after a crap night sleep having just had a not very sleeper train journey of 18 hours. This all would have been avoided had my request been heard.

Mr Rashid Is Amazing Organised our trip to Taj Mahal a Driver named Paul and a guide named Wasim all gave 100 per cent to our needs .We had 3 days with driver Paul and he delivered a wonderful satisfying tour of Delhi . Would definitely stay in the Hotel again ( may not suit all first time foreign tourist ) Restaurant adjoined to Hotel food is fabulous and at a low cost all staff in Restaurant and Hotel go more than the extra mile for their guests not like the superior ( 😅) Hotel i am now staying in Mumbai Give me Ajunta any day .
