Taipei Yes Hostel

The room facilities matched the pictures. It's a B&B located in an alley. We stayed on a Saturday night and it cost almost 1000 HKD, which I felt wasn't really worth the price. I chatted with our chartered driver later, and he mentioned that accommodation in Taiwan has become much more expensive since the pandemic.

About a 5-minute walk from Tamsui MRT Station, it's pretty easy to find. If you check in outside of business hours, it's a self-check-in process, but the host will inform you of the steps beforehand, so no worries there. However, there's no elevator, so you'll need to carry your luggage up 1-2 flights of stairs. The room is a bit small, but it's clean and tidy.

Visited Tamsui in May 2026 and chose a family room here. It had a double bed and a bunk bed setup. It's not far from Tamsui MRT station, and there are plenty of convenient dining options nearby. If you're driving, you can park at the Ren'ai Parking Lot, which is a few minutes' walk away, with a weekday maximum of $250. The room was clean and hygienic, making for a very comfortable stay. The bathroom and toilet are separate, with a spacious shower area and lovely retro mosaic floor tiles. I only found out after reading the introduction that this building used to be the Tobacco and Wine Monopoly Bureau in the 1950s – a historic old house with character. Strong-smelling food needs to be eaten in the common area downstairs. Overall, a good accommodation experience. I'd choose to stay here again next time I visit Tamsui.

Excellent soundproofing, very comfortable.

This guesthouse is very close to Tamsui Old Street, and there's a shopping mall nearby. Right next to the mall, there seems to be a night market. The room was clean and hygienic, and there's a washing machine available. There are also many great restaurants in the area.
