Subway station close by. Door men were really helpful. Big thank you to Jimmy who was really helpful. Concierge was really helpful getting us great tickets to shows. Breakfast was ok. Charlie Parker Steak across the road had excellent steak.

We were a 3 minute walk away from peloton which made getting into the live classes super convenient. The hotel itself is great- very clean, friendly staff, and decently sized rooms for NYC. Refinery is first of all a good location. It ’s convenient to go to Broadway to watch a show or to go to midtown. The nearby Bryant Park has my favorite breakfast shop. West 40th Street has good Spanish food. Michelin ’s chef ’s table is the highest in the world at West 39. Street ... you can understand so much. In fact, the room facilities are just like that. In contrast, I prefer their hotel public facilities and bathrooms. Their rooftop is a relatively popular restaurant with nice night views.

Furthermore, this hotel is in the middle of everything. It's very easy to walk to nearly every tourist destination and it's right on the hop on/hop off bus route. Also on our last night helped us tremendously as far as transportation to the airport since there were road closures due to a parade We were able to get a car right at our door and not have to use a taxi nor other! Amazing hotel in the best area , close to everything . Hotel itself clean , cute cozy. Room is very decent, we see the Empire State from our room , breakfast has hot and cold stuff and to go food if you want for a snack , I loved their coffee. People from reception, breakfast team, housekeeping are decent , helpful and working hard. They hv a cozy cute table downstairs for a drink or the 26th floor which is the top notch to see NY and direct to the Empire State. My only recommendation pls do a deep clean for the carpet in z rooms as we noted stains . I def recommended and will go there again and again

Must talk about it. Hotel location, service and hygiene, not to mention, anyway, generally pass. The breakfast was really good, things were basically the same every day, and I was tired for six days. By the way, breakfast is free to eat, no matter your room rate includes breakfast, just go down to the first floor to eat, no one cares, no breakfast coupons. What I want to say this time is that the hotel's checkout will not be refunded if you charge more! It was a very irresponsible and unreasonable hotel. Later, under the coordination of Ctrip, a part was returned, and Ctrip helped me to pay the rest. Thanks for Ctrip's support! The hotel received $ 162.76, but in the end it charged me $ 413.41, more than $ 250! The pre-authorization at check-in was only $ 187.76, and the front desk had no objection to the pre-authorization account at check-out. The remaining part was charged without my knowledge after leaving. What is the difference between stealing and stealing? And they are all received by mistake, and some fees are repeatedly collected. Later, with the help and coordination of Ctrip, the hotel promised to refund some of the fees that were repeatedly charged, and the overcharge of the front desk staff caused by their own mistakes was 125 dollars, and it was not refundable! Great location in Midtown, just blocks from the Empire State Building, Macy's, and several dining and breakfast options. Easy walk to subway and even Times Square (20 minutes). Rooms are small, but clean and very comfortable. (We were impressed by how much storage space was available in the room.) Amenities are not fancy (small restaurant with limited options, small gym), but it's an excellent starting point for exploring the city. There was some noise bleed from neighboring rooms, but none from outside.

”Hip” and ”boutique” has become a metaphor for dirty and unclean. The ”hotel room” was bare bones, dirty, with previous guests used personal toys left behind end tables. The small kitchen was barely usable - no under cabinet lighting, no dishwasher, small fridge, coffee maker dirty and unclean, same for the broken toaster, no dishwashing soap for even the small amount of utensils and glassware. No effort was made to clean underneath the bed; the bed itself sagged. The room view is into tenement like housing (if I wanted a West Side Story experience, I would go to the theater rather than pay for this cheap ...calling it a hotel is a stretch). The balcony is a joke (at worse a hazard (make sure the balcony door is locked.) The corner space between the top mattress and boxspring was dirty, crumbs, dust, etc - clearly had not been vacuumed or cleaned since the Roosevelt administration. Wi-Fi is subpar. Another effort by a non-corporate hospitality company (or whoever owns this dump) to milk tourists who come to New York by renovating whatever this building used to be into a sub standard ”hotel” rooms and skating by on ”location.”

All the fears I had expected before were superfluous... 20 US dollars per day security fee~ go to the international Metropolis New York will stay again. Excellent location quite near to Time Square. The room was not big but spacious enough to put a small luggage and still be able to walk around. The bed is large and very comfortable, had the best sleep during this sleep which helped me recover from the jet. Two negatives: 1. The sink drain is not installed properly, which doesn’t allow the water to drain away fast enough causing buildup. Quite disgusting when you are shaving, washing etc. when the dirty water doesn’t go down fast enough. 2. This one is not necessarily something Holiday Inn can control, but there is consistently some homeless ppl, ppl that look like they are on drugs outside the hotel. Also the sidewalk isn’t particularly clean. Now I wasn’t particularly bothered by #2, but could totally see ppl coming to NYC for the first time being turned off, or feel unsafe and choose not to stay here. Something for the hotel to think about.

Went for a family reunion booked 2 rooms our stay was for a week.Reception was great very attentive,Informative.. I had an option of cleaning service every day which I did and it was the worst… I had to tell reception most of the time to let them know to change my sheets and the one time they did change the sheet they were ripped from the corners, old and smelly… bathrooms were not properly cleaned. I was very disappointed it… its a really beautiful hotel but housekeeper have to do a better job.. at the end of my stay I told the receptionist and he didn’t even care…

Pros - Location was great on W39th between 8th & 9th so very central and near lots of bars and restaurants in Times Square. We were able to walk everywhere from our hotel, including Central Park, which is approx 30 min walk. - We found the bed very comfy and enjoyed having the fridge to keep our water cold during the day - The staff were friendly and helpful with booking a car to bring us to the airport and we were welcomed warmly to the hotel. The cleaning staff were also extremely friendly and always smiling, which is always a good sign in my opinion. Cons - Our bedroom door was very stiff to the extent that we thought we were locked in and stuck in the room after the first night and needed to call reception to help us out. The door would be a bit of a safety hazard if there was an emergency and the engineer who helped us did not seem too concerned with the reported issue. - The breakfast was very busy and difficult to get a table to sit at. There was a good choice with bagels / cooked food / yoghurt / cereals and tea / coffee but the food itself was cheap and we decided not to avail of it after the first morning. Coffee was good though! - The floor in our room wasn’t very clean and was sticky even after cleaning. Our socks were filthy if we didn’t wear shoes around the room. - The room was expensive but in-line with New York prices. We chose this as a slightly more expensive hotel due to the breakfast included but we didn’t end up availing of the breakfast due to it not meeting our expectations, which was a bit disappointing.

Great, central location in midtown, easily walkable to Times Square, musicals, ktown, and more! We pretty much walked everywhere! Convenient to nearby subway station (34st - Penn station). Service was great, Hilton honours members get perks, and they have a little store in the lobby, business room for printing, gym, coin washer/ dryer all in the building. Felt very safe. The hotel’s not the newest but the room size is decent for New York standards. Washroom is a good size too. We were facing the back alley so there were no noises at all, super quiet. There’s also breakfast every morning, and it was not bad though if you want nicer stuff, you should definitely goto the nearby cafes. We really enjoyed our stay here, had everything we needed! ☺️
