Moxy NYC Lower East Side
4.1/5103 Reviews
Chinatown - Little Italy
I have lived in NYC 20 years, and occasionally, we like to play tourist in our own city. My husband and I decided to stay a night at the Moxy LES in celebration of my 40th birthday. I even talked another couple who were celebrating with us into getting a room too. I chose this location as I saw the beautiful roof bar advertised and thought it’d be fun to start our night with a cocktail on the roof with a few friends before setting out to my main celebration elsewhere. Having stayed at several other similar hotels in town like Sixty LES, I never had an issue grabbing a cocktail at the rooftop bar. This was not the case here. I arrived with a group of 7 to head to the Highlight Room at around 7pm (wayyy before the nightlife rush!), and was told I had “priority” as a guest of the hotel, but first I had to commit to spending $350 for us to come up. Don’t advertise your bars as an amenity of the hotel if they are not freely accessible to guests. What if my friends just wanted a nice lemonade and to check out the view?? I guess they’re not welcome or that’s a lot of lemonade we’d have to buy! Just to note: Loosie’s, the club in the basement of the hotel with the “no-attitude dancefloor” — to quote the hotel website — is notoriously snooty at the door, and guests of the hotel are not prioritized for entry there either. We had other plans that night so didn’t even bother, but word to the wise. As for the room: Yes, they’re small. Expected in NYC, and was fine for us since we were only staying 1 night, but I would not want to stay here longer than a couple days. There is no real closet. Just a few hangers on a bar on the wall (some under the television!) so your clothes kind of have to hang flat against the wall. There are cubbies under the bed for storage. Not ideal in such a tight space. I stubbed my toe on them more than once. Maybe I’m clumsy or maybe it’s just a bad design! The light situation is super weird. I don’t know if our lighting was accidentally installed incorrectly, but in order to turn the bathroom light on, you had to have the main room light on. The main room light could be turned on separately. So basically, if you needed to go in the middle of the night, you either had to pee in the dark or turn on the lights of the whole room while your partner is sleeping! (Possible we didn’t see another light switch somewhere but I’m pretty sure the only switches were 2 by the door.) Toiletries: The shower had 2 pump bottles (sustainable. I respect that!) — but one was filled with a shampoo/body wash combo — and the other conditioner. I would expect something a bit more luxe even for a 4 star hotel — and certainly a separate shampoo and body wash! There was no lotion, which is usually standard in even the Holiday Inn. There was one small bar of soap for hand washing. No places to hang towels. I had to throw mine over the top of the shower door. Towels were pretty scratchy too. They do have a steamer and hair dryer. Bless! There was no fridge

Greenwich Village
The best thing about this hotel is the location. That’s where it begins and ends. I’ve never encountered a staff that could care LESS about service. No one held the door once for my daughter and myself-upon arrival with our suitcases, with shopping bags during our stay, or upon our exit, again, with multiple pieces of heavy luggage and carry-ons. I actually laughed out loud at the fact there there were two employees, one definitely a bellman, standing next to the doors when we were struggling with our luggage to leave-it was that comical. A 95 degree day, dragging large bags down the stairs, being WATCHED by two employees. And the entrance doors are actually quite heavy and cumbersome! The gentleman at registration when we arrived was on a phone call, where he was acting put out by the questions on the other end, and didn’t even acknowledge me standing there for a full two to three minutes. I asked if there was a room with two beds available -he proceeded to tell me about options, and then tell me I wouldn’t want them anyway. When I said I actually would, he told me they weren't available. There certainly was no shortage of staff, they just couldn’t be bothered to engage, let alone smile or acknowledge guests. I’ve had better service at a Comfort Inn on a highway exit during a college road trip. There are too many options in New York to treat your guests this poorly.

Gramercy
The bed was very comfortable, the booking was a wonderful room, a big bed, and the front desk was kind enough to ask if you would have an extra bed. There is a supermarket next to it, you can buy something very late. I received 100 dollars of dollars and returned to it in three days.

My room was comfortable, spacious and very clean. The housekeeping service was excellent, and it was brilliant to have a fridge and air conditioning - so easy to relax in peace and have a quick snack. The location in the east village is fantastic - very close to multiple subway lines, stores, restaurants and bars. While it is a little noisy outside - it's New York, that is to be expected, and I had no problems sleeping. The hotel itself was very quiet, I never heard other guests. I will definitely be staying here again when I visit New York - great value for money!
The Ludlow Hotel

The Ludlow Boutique Hotel in the Soho district of New York is ideally located for shopping in the nearby shops and brunch cafes. The point is that the scenery is really great! Margiela's bathrobes, Marvis's toothbrushes, and cute Boxed Water are pleasing to the details. The fixed room type is Loft Queen, and the holiday of 3600RMB is not worth a night! And the le labo's care kit has been changed now. However, such a scenery is worthy of the off-season.

Hotel location is very good, mainly convenient, not far from the F, J line subway, walking to Chinatown, Manhattan Financial District, Midtown, NYU, SOHO area are about half an hour, acceptable. Dining and shopping is particularly good. One minute walk next door is a hundred-year-old shop Katz. Many celebrities took photos with the boss. There is also an old shop selling smoked salmon. There are many locals to buy in the early morning, opposite the union market. High-quality supermarkets selling organic food, whole foods are not far away, today is a new marshell shop to help meet the desire to shop for branded bargains. There is a BAR on the roof, live music on the weekend, very hi, you can see the night view, design a more modern hotel, not bad. It is check in to go up to the 14th floor, there is still feeling that cleaning is not very thorough, more perfunctory, lived for 6 days, used shampoo, open the lid on one side is not cleaned, it is .... But overall it is good.
