Hotel near Dukezong Old Town,Shangri-La
Nestled in the Wayao area of the ancient city of Dukezong in Shangri-La, our homestay enjoys a quiet location built against the hills, within walking distance of the city center. Blending Tibeta charm with modern comfort, all rooms are equipped with underfloor heating and oxygen supply systems to ease fatigue from high altitude travel. We also feature a viewing terrace, cozy guest rooms and attentive butler service, making it the perfect peaceful retreat for your journey to explore the secrets of Shangri-La

"The young owner is so hostile. He is the type who only answer for the sake of answering you. Not helpful at all. The oxygen rich guesthouse that was advertised weren’t completely true at all! The young owner warn us to only turn it on when we experience extreme difficulty in breathing. The stated free gifts weren’t given and you have to ask like a beggar. But of course I have to be honest that the elderly father is a very kind man indeed. Also, there wasn’t any 24 hours butler service as mentioned. However yes, they accommodate to it in the end. The location of the guesthouse can be very congested if you take Didi. So this may cost you more and might take a long time to get a car. Our room is situated next to the stairs which can be very noisy at night to midnight as young guests return around that time. Also, the so called room service is to only top up the toiletries, changed the towel (but damp towel), dispose the garbage bin. There were 3 adults but were only given 2 towels initially."

"An unforgettable stay ! From the moment I arrived, I felt completely immersed in the wild beauty of Shangri-La. The location is breathtaking wide open landscapes, mountains that seem to stretch forever, and a calm that's hard to find anywhere else. The rooms were impeccably clean, beautifully designed, with an amazing view, every detail felt intentional. But what truly made this stay special was Suki and little fish (荔枝). They are patient, attentive, and genuinely caring the kind of hosts who make you feel completely at ease from the very first moment. Beyond being incredibly warm and welcoming, they helped me experience the region in a way I never could have on my own. I went horse riding in the mountains with them, discovered the local culture through their eyes, and had some of the most meaningful conversations of my trip sitting with them. Their advice was precious, and their kindness turned a beautiful place into a memorable one. The amenities were excellent, the service flawless, and the whole place has a soul that's rare to find. If you're traveling and looking for somewhere that feels like an adventure and a home at the same time, this is it. Thank you Suki and little fish for the rides, the laughs, the conversations, and for showing me a side of Yunnan I'll never forget."

"The owner is really nice! 👍 As soon as I called after getting off the bus, they immediately came to pick me up. Qujing locals are so warm, hospitable, and great conversationalists! The hotel has a brand new design, it's clean, fresh, and stylish. I'll definitely stay here again next time, it's conveniently located and not noisy. (The dry pot beef dish they recommended on the first day was just okay though). 🏃🏽‍♀️➡️2026 Shangri-La Ultra Marathon 55KM successfully completed! 🎀 Shangri-La is so beautiful it'll make you 'pant out of breath' (in a good way)🤣🤣"

"Initially, I saw some negative reviews saying the owner had a bad attitude, which made me hesitate to book. But I really liked the design of the place, so I went ahead and booked it. After checking in, I found their service to be absolutely perfect. Our Shangri-La trip was quite rushed. We arrived for check-in close to midnight, and someone was still waiting for us. They were also worried we wouldn't find the place, so they came out to guide us, helped us with our luggage, and even offered us ginger tea. They showed us to our room and turned on the dehumidifier and oxygen generator for us. The hotel rooms are incredibly spacious, and they even provide disposable towels and bathtub liners. The next morning during check-out, it might have been the owner's mother who cheerfully told us to stay a few more days and offered us water and snacks. Our stay during the trip was incredibly warm and welcoming! If I ever come back to Shangri-La, I'll definitely stay here again! (This is a genuinely good review!!!)"

"This guesthouse is super close to the ancient city, just a two or three-minute walk away. The room is incredibly clean; the auntie cleans it every day, which is really great. We're very particular about hygiene, but we didn't even need to use our disposable bedding here – it’s the cleanest guesthouse we've ever stayed in. If you need disposable toiletries, bottled water, etc., just message the owner on WeChat, and they'll bring it right to your room. The room also has an oxygen concentrator, which was a thoughtful touch since I felt a bit dizzy when I first arrived in Shangri-La, and it really helped. The humidifier was also very useful as it's a bit dry here. The breakfast was delicious too, especially the rice noodles, and you can get more if you like. On the day of arrival, the owner contacted us to arrange a pickup, and when we left, we just messaged them on WeChat, and they took us. The service is truly excellent, and every staff member at the guesthouse is very welcoming. The guesthouse itself is very unique with its wooden structure and mud walls, and the environment is lovely. You can even enjoy tea with the owner in the lobby. We were super satisfied with everything and will definitely come back if we get the chance!"

"The location is absolutely unbeatable, within walking distance of Dukezong Ancient City. All the smart home devices are super easy to use, and the oxygen concentrator and humidifier provided are especially practical and thoughtful for the high-altitude environment. The natural light and cleanliness in the room were impeccable. What really sealed the deal was finding out this B&B actually has an elevator! It’s a huge plus, making it effortless to get luggage up and down, which is a lifesaver for anyone with limited mobility or heavy bags. The room was tidy and cozy, with oxygen supply and underfloor heating, and the butler service was excellent. It's nestled in a quiet spot within the bustling ancient city, making for a relaxing and comfortable stay. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit."

"Five out of five stars, highly recommend Rulan Oxygen Homestay! The biggest worry when visiting Shangri-La is altitude sickness, and this place was a lifesaver. The entire homestay has diffused oxygen, plus an oxygen-enriched elevator, and multiple backup oxygen concentrators. Sleeping at night was completely smooth, no stuffiness at all. Coupled with the air humidifier, the discomfort of the dry plateau air just vanished. For those sensitive to altitude, book this without hesitation. The cleanliness is outstanding; both public areas and rooms are spotless, tidy, and odor-free, and the bedding is comfortable. The rooms have smart curtains, which are very convenient to control by voice. The laundry room comes with a dryer, so no worries about washing clothes during your trip. The super-large parking lot is great for self-drivers, making parking stress-free. The location is close to the ancient town, making it easy to get around and find food. The owner and staff are warm and attentive, quick to respond, and address any needs promptly. The overall experience far exceeded expectations. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Shangri-La. Highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the plateau!"

"I frequently travel to Shangri-La for business due to our partnership, and while I rarely write reviews, this particular experience was so exceptional that I was truly touched. The moment I walked in with my luggage, a tall, slender young lady from the front desk immediately offered to help me with my bags. Inside, the hotel offers stunning views at every turn, and there's even an observation deck and coffee area at the very top (though the coffee might not have been available yet). From there, you get a direct view of Shika Snow Mountain, with its changing weather patterns throughout the day. If you're lucky, you might even see the 'Golden Mountain at Sunrise' phenomenon. When I returned from my errands, the front desk proactively offered me a hot cup of tea to help with the altitude sickness and even gave me a nasal inhaler to use in the oxygen bar. The only minor drawback, if I had to name one, was the slightly small parking lot. I also loved the artistic design of the room; it felt very creative. Plus, the toilet had a bidet spray, which was perfect for me, and everything was incredibly clean. When I checked out, the young lady even gave me a little horse figurine as a gift, symbolizing 'instant wealth,' wishing me prosperity in the new year. I will definitely stay here again on my next business trip. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!"

"My friends and I specifically came to Shangri-La to escape the city hustle and relax, and this grassland yurt truly exceeded our expectations! The yurt itself was clean and spacious, with a distinctive wooden dome. Opening the floor-to-ceiling windows revealed an expansive view of the entire grassland and distant mountains. We could lie in bed and watch the clouds drift by, a sight that instantly lifted our spirits. Just outside, there were vast lawns with gentle, friendly alpacas everywhere, making every photo-op Instagram-worthy. Prayer flags fluttered in the mountain breeze, adding to the wonderful atmosphere. Here, there's no need to rush through an itinerary or be bothered by work. We simply strolled, daydreamed, and enjoyed the crisp highland air. All the accumulated fatigue and anxiety melted away. The environment is quiet with few people, and the accommodation comfort is top-notch. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a temporary escape from the rat race and an immersive experience of the grassland scenery!"
