"This guesthouse is super close to the ancient city, just a two or three-minute walk away. The room is incredibly clean; the auntie cleans it every day, which is really great. We're very particular about hygiene, but we didn't even need to use our disposable bedding here – it’s the cleanest guesthouse we've ever stayed in. If you need disposable toiletries, bottled water, etc., just message the owner on WeChat, and they'll bring it right to your room. The room also has an oxygen concentrator, which was a thoughtful touch since I felt a bit dizzy when I first arrived in Shangri-La, and it really helped. The humidifier was also very useful as it's a bit dry here. The breakfast was delicious too, especially the rice noodles, and you can get more if you like. On the day of arrival, the owner contacted us to arrange a pickup, and when we left, we just messaged them on WeChat, and they took us. The service is truly excellent, and every staff member at the guesthouse is very welcoming. The guesthouse itself is very unique with its wooden structure and mud walls, and the environment is lovely. You can even enjoy tea with the owner in the lobby. We were super satisfied with everything and will definitely come back if we get the chance!"

"The best thing that happened to me in Shangri-La was choosing this guesthouse, tucked away on the northern slope of the ancient town! It had just been renovated, so all the facilities were brand new. The entire place was spotless, and our room was clean and bright, with absolutely no new-renovation smell. The location is incredibly convenient. You can walk straight to Dukezong Ancient Town from here, making it super easy to stroll back after an evening out. The rooftop terrace was the biggest surprise – from there, you get a complete panoramic view of the entire ancient town. You can see the continuous Tibetan-style rooftops by day, watch the sunset in the evening, and admire the city lights at night. The view is truly unique. The owners are genuinely warm and hospitable people; they were gentle and thoughtful. They patiently helped us with any questions we had about getting around or dining. It's a quiet haven amidst the hustle, with top-notch views, cleanliness, and service. Our overall stay was perfect, and I truly recommend it if you're coming to Shangri-La!"

"Having traveled so many times, the service at this guesthouse truly surprised and delighted me. After a long and tiring journey, dragging several pieces of luggage to the guesthouse, before I even had a chance to rest, the owner kindly offered to lend a hand, carefully carrying everything up and down the stairs, so I didn't have to lift a finger. During check-in, I had quite a few questions, from small things like how to use the room's appliances to big things like nearby transportation, off-the-beaten-path attractions, and restaurant recommendations—a whole host of questions. The owner patiently and meticulously answered each one, even creating a simple itinerary based on my trip duration, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room was clean and comfortable, with a wonderful atmosphere, and the attentive service was the icing on the cake. There was no overly commercialized politeness, only genuine and heartfelt care, which greatly enhanced the overall enjoyment of my trip. Whether for a short trip or a long stay, it's perfect. I highly recommend it; it's a hidden gem of a guesthouse that you'll never forget."

"An unforgettable stay ! From the moment I arrived, I felt completely immersed in the wild beauty of Shangri-La. The location is breathtaking wide open landscapes, mountains that seem to stretch forever, and a calm that's hard to find anywhere else. The rooms were impeccably clean, beautifully designed, with an amazing view, every detail felt intentional. But what truly made this stay special was Suki and little fish (荔枝). They are patient, attentive, and genuinely caring the kind of hosts who make you feel completely at ease from the very first moment. Beyond being incredibly warm and welcoming, they helped me experience the region in a way I never could have on my own. I went horse riding in the mountains with them, discovered the local culture through their eyes, and had some of the most meaningful conversations of my trip sitting with them. Their advice was precious, and their kindness turned a beautiful place into a memorable one. The amenities were excellent, the service flawless, and the whole place has a soul that's rare to find. If you're traveling and looking for somewhere that feels like an adventure and a home at the same time, this is it. Thank you Suki and little fish for the rides, the laughs, the conversations, and for showing me a side of Yunnan I'll never forget."

Nestled in the Wayao area of the ancient city of Dukezong in Shangri-La, our homestay enjoys a quiet location built against the hills, within walking distance of the city center. Blending Tibeta charm with modern comfort, all rooms are equipped with underfloor heating and oxygen supply systems to ease fatigue from high altitude travel. We also feature a viewing terrace, cozy guest rooms and attentive butler service, making it the perfect peaceful retreat for your journey to explore the secrets of Shangri-La

"The young owner is so hostile. He is the type who only answer for the sake of answering you. Not helpful at all. The oxygen rich guesthouse that was advertised weren’t completely true at all! The young owner warn us to only turn it on when we experience extreme difficulty in breathing. The stated free gifts weren’t given and you have to ask like a beggar. But of course I have to be honest that the elderly father is a very kind man indeed. Also, there wasn’t any 24 hours butler service as mentioned. However yes, they accommodate to it in the end. The location of the guesthouse can be very congested if you take Didi. So this may cost you more and might take a long time to get a car. Our room is situated next to the stairs which can be very noisy at night to midnight as young guests return around that time. Also, the so called room service is to only top up the toiletries, changed the towel (but damp towel), dispose the garbage bin. There were 3 adults but were only given 2 towels initially."

"This stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is superb, with easy access to transportation and plenty of amenities nearby. The room was spacious and bright, with a modern yet cozy decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable – a perfect 10! The owner even provides snacks and fruit at the front desk. My child had a nosebleed due to altitude sickness and stained the bedding, but the hotel owner and housekeeping staff handled it wonderfully. Their warm and thoughtful service made us feel right at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning a trip here! When we left, the owner even helped us buy some local specialty snacks at a great price, and they tasted delicious."

"This hotel was surprisingly good! My friends and I were traveling in Shangri-La when we saw this newly opened hotel. The decor was lovely, like a small bar or cafe – we were very satisfied. It's clear the owner put a lot of effort into it; the materials were high-quality, and the staff were very polite. They explained many things to us about high-altitude conditions and how to enjoy ourselves, preventing us from incurring unnecessary expenses. The bedding was excellent and very comfortable; apparently, it's a zero-pressure mattress, which is great. The hairdryer was also very good, though it seemed quite expensive. Sitting on the balcony at night, just relaxing, felt like time stood still – so relaxing! Enjoying a coffee and music in the coffee area was truly comfortable! Breakfast was plentiful; the lady at the auntie was very polite, asking if we wanted rice noodles, worried we might not have enough. The cleanliness and service were impeccable. I highly recommend this newly opened hotel, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shangri-La!"

"I absolutely have to recommend Wanchenxin Homestay to everyone. It was the most comfortable and enjoyable place I stayed during my trip. Every detail made me feel incredibly relaxed. The guesthouse's overall decor is sophisticated, warm yet stylish, featuring natural wood textures combined with soft colors. The moment I stepped in, I felt all my tension melt away. The cleanliness of the rooms is impeccable; every corner is spotless. The bedding is soft, skin-friendly, and feels brand new. When you're traveling, a comfortable stay ensures a pleasant trip, and their bedding allowed me to unwind from a day's exhaustion as soon as I lay down. The soundproofing is also excellent; I could sleep in until I naturally woke up the next day. The bathroom facilities are thoughtfully designed, with a very convenient smart toilet and a complete set of shower facilities providing stable and ample hot water. The toiletries are high-quality, and everything you could possibly need is provided. The room's amenities, such as the TV, kettle, and complimentary bottled water, are all from reputable brands, making them practical and not just for show. I definitely have to give a thumbs-up to the owner for this, haha! Plus, the room's large French windows offer excellent natural light and an expansive view when opened. On sunny days, there's plenty of light, which isn't at all stifling, making it even more pleasant for families. The public areas are quite spacious, featuring a tearoom and a lounge area. The various green plants are beautiful, and I'm truly impressed by how well the owner maintains all these flowers and plants. Sitting in the lobby for a bit, even just to daydream, is exceptionally relaxing. When you stay here, you don't have to worry about the service; everyone is incredibly warm and attentive. Every time I saw them, they had a smile on their face, which made me feel comfortable and welcome. When I asked the front desk for travel advice, they were very meticulous, introducing nearby attractions one by one, such as Meili Snow Mountain, Wudi Lake, and Tiger Leaping Gorge. They also offer one-stop services for popular attractions like shared rides, trekking, and car rentals, so you don't even have to bother with planning your itinerary. It's truly fantastic. Another point worth mentioning is that parking in the old town itself can be very troublesome due to narrow roads and limited spaces. Their private parking is a huge advantage for self-driving tourists. There's a spacious, exclusive parking lot within the courtyard with ample spaces. You can park your car and directly enter the lobby to check in, without having to walk a distance to the front desk, making the process simple and convenient. They can also help arrange electric scooter rentals to explore the old town, providing incredibly thoughtful service. The guesthouse offers a quiet environment amidst the bustle. Both its hardware facilities and attentive service are top-notch. It offers incredible value for money. Whether you're traveling solo, with family, or with friends, you're guaranteed to have an exceptional experience. Choosing Wanchenxin Homestay when you come to Shangri-La is truly a great decision."

The room was spotless and clean, and the breakfast rice noodles were delicious – I even got to try yak butter tea! The public areas are lovely, with a unique layout. The third-floor terrace lounge is a big plus; it must be so cozy to sit there and listen to the rain during a downpour.
