TRAVELODGE NEWBURY LONDON ROAD ★★★
"perfect as always, every time we come for the races this is our go to place to stay! in the centre of town and nearby to everything. the rooms were fresh smelling and clean making it enjoyable and comfortable. Staff are friendly as they are every time and Annie the manager ensuring we will have a have a great stay! the housekeeping kept our room topped up with essentials and towels which we highly appreciated."
The Coat and Bear ★★★★
"Wonderful and understanding"
Premier Inn Newbury Town Centre (London Road) ★★★
"The location is excellent, there is a bus at the door, the food is very British style, the accommodation is good, in short it is a good experience"
Travelodge Newbury Chieveley M4 ★★★
"Annual visit to the Newbury Showground. There is always a warm welcome when Sanjay is on reception, he is very friendly and helpful. Good location and easy parking too."
Hare and Hounds Newbury ★★★
"I really like this hotel; it's very unique. Breakfast in the restaurant is à la carte, but the bread and blueberry yogurt are free. The room also provides two complimentary glass bottles of water each day. It's not mineral water, but the local drinking water. ☺️ The hotel is located in the small town of Newbury, surrounded by beautiful scenery and many English-style country cottages. 🏡 I was so moved. 💗 I just wanted to enjoy a different kind of rural scenery from the city. 😄"
The Elephant at the Market ★★★
"Very close to Newbury Railway Station, just a few minutes away. Located in Newbury Market, the scenery nearby is very beautiful. The room is a bit rudimentary, but there is nothing missing, there is everything. The room is in the backyard of the bar, and it is very convenient to go to the bar for a drink at night. Breakfast is not self-service, there are several breakfast options, and then you can make it. The breakfast is delicious, especially the fried eggs, and the fire is just right. I am going to Hacklear Castle. The front desk called a taxi for me. It costs more than 30 pounds to Hacklear Castle. I didn't book a ticket to Hacklear Castle in advance. It is also possible to buy a ticket there. Unlike the online, you must book a ticket in advance."
Newbury Town Centre South A339 ★★★
"Hotel was easy to get to (used Google Maps as not familiar with the area!) its tucked away from the retail park and is lovely & quiet. Car parking was great with lots of space available. Clean grounds and a nice atmosphere as we went in. Check in was smooth & easy. We booked a table for tea. The room was lovely & clean, beds and pillows were super comfy (have since bought 2 pillows!). Super quiet area and no noise in the corridors overnight. Special shout out to Arianna & Dina - I honestly don't know how they do it all! Nothing was too much for them - we really enjoyed getting to know them. Their service was impeccable. Really friendly - we honestly can't praise them enough. We ate at the hotel for our evening meal and breakfast the next morning. Food was lovely, plenty of availability. All in all a great stay for 1 night and we'd definitely stay again if we're ever in the area again."
The Dolphin ★★★
"We stayed here for one night on our way to visit Highclere Castle, the set of Downton Abbey & we really found a little gem. We had a warm comfortable room, the street noise didn’t bother us, we had a delicious dinner & an added surprise of quiz night"
The Lodge ★★★
"The lodge is a great location if you are going to the racecourse. We arrived at around 1:30 as the first race was at 2:30 and was told that if we wanted to check in early we would have to pay a fee of £20. When the races often start at around 2-2:30 this seemed unreasonable. I had to come out of he racecourse between races to check In. I’ve stayed at the Lingfield racecourse hotel and they checked us in 12:30 as our room was ready. Went for breakfast at around 7:50 and there was no menus out, the staff seemed totally disorganised. There was no instructions on how to order food. The continental “help yourself” was ok but had very little fruit options. They did have alpro soya and oat milk as milk alternatives. The room was clean and tidy but very basic. It did have a free standing fan which was good in the warm weather. The bad was big and comfortable. The shower was nice and had shower gel. The customer service let it down a little."

Cbh Donnington & Co (Formerly Donnington Valley Hotel)
"Staff and service are lovely lovely - the bed on my first night was a little soft. Skirting in the first bathroom didnt look like it had been cleaned in a year. The upholstery was pretty grim in both rooms, large cofee/wind stain on the curtains. The sofa looked like something from a student house and the desk chair pretty much the same - not reflective of room price"
The Retreat, Elcot Park
The Carpenters Arms
"Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful, charming, and fully equipped rooms with tea, coffee, and mineral water. Breakfast is good and tasty, but you only get one coffee per person. If you want tea, juice, or a cappuccino instead of coffee, you have to pay extra."
