Where to start… if you are a masochist then you are in luck! Hard bed. Extortionate parking (20 a day). **** and alcohol fuelled neighbours wandering the streets, screaming and yelling, making sure you never enjoy more than an hours sleep and a bathroom that is so badly designed, you can’t have a bath or a shower! The scrambled eggs at breakfast are a solid, tasteless lump of yellowish matter. A true delight! To get into the car park we had to get the rough sleepers to move so we could drive down the access tunnel, which they were sleeping in. Nice guys and I was very uncomfortable having them pick up their belongings to allow me access. It felt very wrong. When we checked in we were told the car park is privately owned and despite the hotel advertising it at £10 per day, the charge is in fact, £20. Payable immediately. I’d rather that extra went to the guys in the tunnel. It was clear the front desk knew of the issues with false pricing online but don’t care. We went upstairs and found our deluxe room was anything but. The bath was so small, that as a 5 foot tall women, it was still too small for me! This did not prove to be an issue as the plug didn’t work and water just drained straight out. The shower is a fixed head, and was two foot above me. Designed for a man and of little practical use to me. I did ask for the plug to be fixed. It wasn’t! Could not wait to leave! Horrible experience around.

A perfect location as it was throwing it down with rain when I got off the train..it was very clean.. basic drinks in room that were complimentary Hotels is old so very creaky and I was woken with lots of gurgling in my bathroom from what I can only presume was someone else using their bathroom at 3am . Overall Good

Hotel is well situated in the city centre, opposite the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was tidy and had everything needed. It was a bit warm but nothing much could be done about that given the weather and time of year.

Bit of a struggle at check in but other then that very good very clean and amazing hotel

The rooms were standard, equipped with basic necessities and a fan but was still really hot at night in the summer. If you’re visiting Newcastle in the summer, I would not recommend this hotel. Would be good for colder months though

Room was extremely stuffy , no air flow at all so really difficult to sleep or even be comfortable. Hotel bar shut super early barmaid literally kicked us out at 10pm .

Location was perfect across the road from the train station. And a 24 hour reception. We had a late flight into Newcastle landing at 1:30am. So was perfect. Snacks in room were dusty, bedding was stained but we just needed sleep.

Absolute brilliant hotel, staff so friendly and welcoming, can I just say, paul on reception was an absolute legend, as I rang up in the morning to request an early check-in as we arrived after 12 and check-in wasn't untill 3, but paul put a lock on our room, so it was ready for us when we arrived, give that man a raise. Perfect location and comfortable rooms, will deffo recommend, and if im visiting Newcastle again, I think this hotel will be my first choice, depending on price. Need to take note whether the booking is for the County Hotel or the County Aparthotel. It wasn’t clear when we booked it. The County Hotel is better located but the Aparthotel is further away from the train station. The Aparthotel room that we stayed in was big but it was slightly older - the bed was very well used and had little support. But overall, the room was still okay, not the best.

Great deco style ! Great location ! But , there is some kind of smoked smell at the ground floor it sinces like from the kitchen.

Great room great staff and a great price

We checked in and checked straight back out again after going into the room. The room was tiny definitely not suitable for more than 1 person. The "double" bed was pushed right up against a wall and wasn't much bigger than a single bed. Room was dusty all over. The bathroom was bigger than the actual room although you couldn't actually sit on the toilet properly as the sink cabinet was right next to the toilet. The room stank of food as I'm guessing was above the kitchen as the big fans were next to the window. Couldn't open the window as the smell of food was then even worse so the room stank like burger grease. Room was really hot as the radiator was turned on however couldn't turn it off and opening the window wasn't an option either. Reception area is really nicely presented but definitely not a reflection on the rooms which are poor to say the least. Ended up booking into a second hotel round the corner which is amazing complete opposite end of the scale in comparison to the first. Unfortunately meant we've ended up paying for 2 hotels just for 1 night but lesson learnt.
