The most deplorable, run down, mouldy, stinking, unsafe place I've ever stayed in. The so called manager!? " who actually owns the hovel" was so aggressive towards us when we asked for clean bedding that we were told to get out? That time of night we had no where to to go, so we sat on a chair and our suitcases all night. We couldn't stay another night, but was lucky to get a tent in YHA. I've reported the property to Lewes health and safety, so with any luck🍀 He will be closed down or made to make the property safe and clean.

I was unable to cross from France due to a train strike. I rang and cancelled my booking as soon as I knew that I couldn't come. (lunchtime the day of proposed stay).I was stuck in France half-way through my journey to Dieppe. I received no sympathy from the rude man at the end of the phone. I said that I assumed I would lose my deposit of £20, on the £60 cost. He just grunted. I later found that my card had been debited for the rest of the money (£40). I rang and queried this and was told that I had not cancelled over 24 hours before. I was not aware of this requirement, but pointed out that a) I had been prevented from arriving, and it was not my choice and b) I was not advised that they would be debiting the rest of the cost. The rude man said that I had not asked. I said that I had said when I cancelled, that I actually commented to him that I assumed I would lose the deposit and he had not corrected me. He said that he hadn't told me that he WOULDN'T be debiting the money either! I gave up. This is the worst attitude I have ever come across. If the terms of the booking entitled them to the full price, ok, but they should have told me what was going to happen, and the general rudeness of the man on the phone was appalling.
