Tan House is perfect. The house, the garden, the location (Newland has a terrific pub, The Ostrich) and the owners (who are very knowledgeable about the Forest and the surrounding area) are all excellent.

Myself and My Husband spent 4 Fantastic days at Tan house Farm for our 17th wedding Anniversary, We couldn't of asked for a better location and better people! We felt totally relaxed and totally welcome, I have read many reviews for Tan House and 99 percent of guests have felt exactly as myself and husband felt! The rooms are spotless the breakfast amazing the company at breakfast was second to none! We cannot wait to go back, I felt very emotional leaving as Christie and Peter had made us feel more like family than guests "that is priceless" Thankyou So much for making it so special for Us Christie,Peter,Zues,Gaia,Pip,Effie,Pip and lovely little Jelly can't wait for our next visit!!!!!!! xxxx

I think we can echo everything else written about this bed and breakfast - amazing welcome, great for our dog, really friendly and interesting hosts, beautiful rooms, an incredible house and garden full of art and amazing furniture built by Peter himself and unbelievable value. Go there... this weekend.

Best B&B stay ever. Amazing old farmhouse, incredible eclectic collection of art and pottery etc from around the world - Travelodge it is not. We stayed in the lovely Gallery room (only criticism is the rather small shower cubicle) with our dog. Lovely countryside on the doorstep to go for a walk, as well as the extensive garden and grounds. Then the treat of a tasty, wholesome breakfast (including eggs from their own hens) shared with hosts Peter and Christie and their 2 dogs. It was a shock to realise we'd be sitting there for 2 hours enjoying their hospitality!

Eight of us, stayed in four rooms, the first weekend of March 2014. Having read all the previous reviews I agree with everything that has been said. I want to repeat that the owners have lovely well behaved pets, and their home is immaculately clean. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms were very warm. The rooms are all large (in fact, they are larger than what the photos show). The furniture in the house is amazing, mostly built by the owner, and some antiques. There was plenty of room for all the cars to park. We did not hear any external noise at all. There is so much to do nearby ... this is a great place to visit.

This is a perfect spot to leave your cares behind. The accommodation is charming ,spotless and well planned . Fabulous mix of top London hotel meets oldie world cottage Our hosts could not have been more helpful.Placed in a lovely rural setting with the Forest of Dean so close , this is idyllic. Our group of 8 felt cozy but not on top of each other. We all thoroughly enjoyed our too short stay. High praise well deserved.
