The door has a self-closer, but it's very slow; I had to give it a push to make sure it closed properly. The male receptionist, a man in his 50s wearing a business suit, seemed a bit intimidating, almost like he was my boss.

I had a wonderful stay at Hatago Nagomi, and it was easily one of the most peaceful and scenic accommodations of my trip. The highlight was definitely the lake view from the room—waking up to such a serene and picturesque setting made the experience truly special. The room itself was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, blending traditional Japanese elements with modern comfort. The beds were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing, perfect for unwinding away from the busy city. The service was warm and attentive, and the staff were well-versed in English, which made it much easier to communicate and clarify the travel plans I had in mind. The onsen was the highlight of the stay. The hotel’s peaceful location near the lake adds to its charm, making it ideal for those looking to enjoy nature and a slower pace of travel. If there’s one thing to note, it’s that the hotel is a bit more secluded, so planning your transport and meals ahead of time would be helpful. Overall, Hatago Nagomi offers a unique and tranquil stay with beautiful views, great service, and a memorable atmosphere. I would highly recommend it, especially for anyone visiting the Nikko area.

We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary trip. Our Western-style room was comfortable with a great bed, allowing us to relax completely. Unfortunately, the weather was foggy, so we couldn't enjoy the scenery we were looking forward to, but I'm sure it would be breathtaking on a clear day. Despite that, the food was delicious, and the hot spring, sourced directly from its origin, was incredibly soothing, making our stay thoroughly satisfying. The hot spring felt a little small, but the quality of the water was superb, offering a truly healing experience. Above all, the customer service was outstanding. The explanations were clear and detailed, and thanks to the pleasant and attentive staff, we felt comfortable throughout our stay. Thanks to them, we made wonderful memories for our 20th wedding anniversary. We definitely want to come back on a sunny day next time to enjoy the magnificent views. Thank you very much.

This is a small in front of the lake. The bus ride from the Tobu Nikko station was wonderful. It took 45 minutes and the ride is to climb the mountain. So exciting. There was a bus stop in front of the hotel. Otherwise you should walk for ten minutes from the bus terminal. The room was cozy and there was a massage chair in the room. As soon as we arrived in the hotel, we rushed to the ferry terminal to take the last boat. The dinner and next morning breakfast are wonderful. Please don’t expect to much about onsen because it is a small hotel with indoor and outdoor hot pools. The hotel offers free coffee and tea the people staying in the hotel.

The proximity to the chuzenji lake. Hiking in the marshland are plus. A mini onsen in the hotel was great after a whole day hiking. Quiet room for a good rest.

The locations and services were excellent. As this is a unique buildings sloping near the lake side, there is no lift but the hotel provides portal services. The onsen is not too big but enough for 6-8 pax at 1 time. Meals were very presettable and yummies. Overall stay experience was good as it is not the peak period.

My stay at Hotel Hatago Nagomi was a lovely experience. While the property is a bit on the older side, it more than makes up for it with a cozy atmosphere and excellent service. Waking up to a direct view of the lake from my room was a highlight, as was winding down in the relaxing on-site hot spring. The three-course Japanese dinner was absolutely awesome and offered incredible quality for a very standard price. It’s a perfect, comfortable home base for anyone looking for an authentic stay in Nikko.

The hotel is about 10 min walk from the bus stop. It has a good view on the lake and mountains. Also we saw monkeys along the road!🐒 Onsen is relaxing and also tattoo friendly which is good for visitors. Breakfast and dinner were good.

The room was spacious. Although the facilities were a bit old, they were well-maintained. The only downside was the lack of an elevator, which might be inconvenient for elderly guests. We booked a half-board package (dinner and breakfast), and the meals were plentiful and delicious.
