Pension Lakes Nikko

We loved our stay at Pension Lake. Lady boss was c pleasant n helpful, food was great (dinner &breakfast) n it is right in front of the lake Chuzenji n easy walk to town n bus. Tq !

A wonderful place to stay if you're going to travel around Okunikko!

This is a cozy Japanese-style inn, and the host is very kind. The hamburger steak served for dinner is excellent. Besides, the inn is located right by the lake. Beautiful and peaceful scenery!

The hotel is situated on the lake, we have a room with a stunning lake view. It’s not busy during summer in the area, we walked from the hotel along the lake and to the temple. We booked a room with breakfast and dinner, which was great as not many restaurants in that area. We want to go back in autumn to see the beautiful autumn colors.

the inn is managed by a small family. The room i got was considerably larger than i expected. Food was exceptionally great, the innkeeper was very considerate to accomodate to my request to replace the original pork patty meal with pasta. They were also very kind enough to give me free handwarmer when i mentioned that i was looking for it at any store around for my hike to mt nantai. Highly recommended

We were hosted by an elderly couple, and his family members. They were super cute, friendly and polite. It's like their small family business, ground floor was a western restaurant, second floor onwards were all the guest rooms. They know a bit of English, so the communication wise no issue at all. What we love about this stay is that other than the room with gorgeous lake view, the host was super helpful to allow us to store our luggage with them even way before our check-in timing. Furthermore he even offer to send us to the laundry shop, when we just casually ask him about the laundry. What actually surprised me the most, was that he even FETCH us from the laundry shop after we were done. Will definitely come back to this place again if I'm in Nikko! Thumbs up! Super host!! 😁

Would like to say first that our experience was stellar and we had a wonderful stay. It's very clear from the lodging that the owners take pride in their establishment. The whole vibe of the place was that of a lodge/cabin located in the mountains. It was a very comforting and warm place to return to after a chilly hike. The hamburg steak was wonderful and for lack of a better word, perfect. I want to stress that the service was wonderful, but you should check when reception is open. We also had some difficulties as the kerosene heater was foreign to us. Nevertheless, one would be hard pressed to find a better lodging for sightseeing along lake chuzenji or (as for us) lake yunoko. A real gem.
