Niseko Grand Hotel Reviews

We had a wonderful stay at Niseko Grand Hotel! My friend and I truly enjoyed our time there. One of the highlights was definitely the hotel's own hot springs — absolutely amazing. There are both female-only and mixed-gender areas, which was a great option to have. The staff was incredibly friendly and always eager to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality really made us feel welcome. In fact, staying here felt more like being at a countryside residence than at a hotel — warm, peaceful, and cozy, just like home. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Niseko — and we hope we will! We stayed in a traditional Japanese-style room, which made the experience even more special. Yukata and yuami (bathing suit) were also provided. The hotel also offers free shuttle buses to the ski slopes regularly, which made it super convenient for us to enjoy the mountains. On the day of our departure, the hotel’s driver kindly took us to the nearest train station. Another standout was the hotel’s restaurant. Breakfast was included in our stay, and we also chose to have dinner there a few times. Every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully prepared. The buffet offered a wide variety of both Asian and Western cuisine, and the selection was impressive for both breakfast and dinner. We also tried eating out at a couple of other restaurants in Niseko, but we both agreed that the hotel’s restaurant was by far the best for us. Highly recommend this place!

The plus point of this hotel is the outdoor mixed gender onsen. The location is inconvenient, although there is shuttle bus provided but limited time slot. There is no convenience store or restaurant nearby. I was advised the late check out rate at ¥3300 per hour but I was confused when 1 of the staff advised another guest at ¥2200 per hour. Why double standard? I guess maybe it depends on the room type?

Service was good, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was ok, did not have dinner there because they only served buffet, had to eat outside, only limited choices, they provided shuttle buses to the ski areas but I didn’t use them as I had a rental car. 

The room was quite nice and seems to be newly refurbished. We booked a buffet dinner and the food offering was really good. The hot spring baths were also really relaxing and outdoor open-air unisex bath was also huge.

Onsen is amazing. As guests of the hotel, we get to used the onsen anytime of the evening to the morning. It was tranquil at night when my wife and I found the onsen all to ourselves. I went again in the early morning and soaked in the spring colors, again having the outdoor onsen to myself. We would stay again.

The restaurant on the fifth floor overlooks the outdoor mixed bathing hot spring pool, and the breakfast is of high quality. The room is clean and comfortable with a large heater. There are ample parking spaces in the two parking lots. There is also a hot spring outlet next to the second parking lot opposite. Many locals come to collect water and take it back for drinking. Yukata for mixed bathing can be picked up at the front desk at any time, and swimsuits are not allowed to enter. There is a small supermarket, capsule toy machine, and coin lockers in the lobby.

The hotel is very old, and some facilities are old, but the tatami room is very suitable for children or multiple people. I was worried that the bathroom was not enough for three people, but I took a hot spring bath every day. The hot spring is directly connected to the first floor. It is said to have a history of 100 years. The hot spring water is great. My body feels smooth after the bath. I am tired from skiing every day, and I sleep well after the hot spring bath. The hotel restaurant buffet is very simple in the morning and evening. The special dinner needs to be booked 3 days in advance, so I didn’t eat it. But there is a restaurant 5 minutes away from the hotel, turn right, and there is a kind of grilled beef mixed with sauce in Figure 6 and Figure 7. It is super delicious. It is crowded with foreigners during the ski season. It is best to make a reservation. Otherwise, you can only eat it after 20:00 in the evening. His special plum wine is also very delicious. Figure 4 is the shuttle bus to Sapporo; Figure 5 is the shuttle bus to each ski resort. Share with you!

Breakfast and dinner have few varieties and taste average and are ice/frozen. The facilities are outdated.

I stayed here a few years ago and it's newly renovated this time. The room, soup, and breakfast are all OK. Compared with the price in Niseko, this hotel is the ceiling of cost performance.

This was my first time there. There was a receptionist and a staff member who helped us at breakfast. They were very nice. My husband and I are both very grateful. One thing that bothered me was when a young customer (Japanese) threw a plastic bottle in the burning trash can and then other customers also threw away everything, which made me feel disappointed at the bad manners of the customers. I am not very good at paying attention to it, but I did separate the items in the trash can. I have a child (a young person with bad manners) who is the same generation. I was very worried about whether I was able to educate him in the same way, and my husband and I were worried. I want to continue to be an adult who can warn people with bad manners. The hotel staff, the open-air bath, and the rooms were great. I would like to use this hotel again. Thank you very much. I am grateful.

Very good experience, although the hotel facilities are a bit old, but the service is very good. Free pick-up and ski pick-up are impressive. The open-air hot spring is very good, and it is even more pleasant to soak in the hot spring while watching the snow scenery than in Noboribetsu.
