IntercityHotel Nizwa

The location of IntercityHotel Nizwa is great, situated just off the highway leading into the Nizwa city area. It is located right beside a large mall on one side and a Lulu Hypermarket on the other. The hypermarket features a McDonald's, which was the only fast food outlet open for drive-through at 11am during Ramadan. Parking is plentiful in front of the hotel. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and we were granted a late check-out upon request. The room is standard but adequate, with no noise issues. Both the shower pressure and water temperature were satisfactory. The air conditioning also worked well. The room that we stayed in has an interesting map of the Nizwa region on the wall behind the bed, which was a nice detail. Bottled water is provided and topped up promptly upon request. This hotel is a good choice for an overnight stay in Nizwa.

The location is good and the service was good . But on the other hand , the room floor was not clean . Our foot got dirty walking barefoot in the room . Also none of the amenities are free charging amount for even the soap is horrible. Also the bed was uncomfortable, we thought it was a double bed but it was 2 single bed joined together and there was a gap in between 2 beds which made our sleep uncomfortable.

Property is located just next to the mall and behind the property is the LuLu hypermarket. 15min drive to Niza old city. The exit from the carpark to the main road can be challenging given that it's a high traffic area (no traffic light nor proper slip road), have to choose a further exit with proper slip road for easier drive to merge into the main road. Exit from the main road back to the hotel carpark is also a challenge, as a wrong turn will lead to LuLu hypermarket instead. Service is slow, receptionist were not interested or keen to attend to guest. Cafe staff, only 2 on duty during breakfast peak, tried their best to get to our al-carte order fast but they also have to attend to the buffet breakfast guest. Nice touch of the dates and omani coffee available next to the lift lobby. There's also shoe cleaner machine available at the lift lobby.
