We went here for my birthday and my sons last July as a joint celebration and booked two rooms to save having to taxi or drive home. First time there but wont be our last time as we love the view of the forth river and the quaint ambience of this hotel and restaurant.We loved the old fashioned feel and the service was excellent. The room was clean and fresh, yes a bit but it just adds to the charm and for the price what does one expect? We drove and parked around the side and had a walked around the area before dinner. Then showered and dressed for dinner and our table was ready for us . The menu was traditional with a good variety and was fresh, hot when served and washed down with a good quality wine. The rooms are small but with such an amazing location you wont want to spend much time in the room as so much to explore outside. Well worth a visit whether local to the area or from abroad and within walking distance to the train station for Edinburgh or other direction to head North. Ideal for the Edinburgh festival.
