Aloita Resort & Spa

We had a wonderful stay at Aloita. My family and I really enjoyed the resort and how friendly and helpful everyone there was. The food was pretty amazing, we've done a few surf trips in the past and having amazing food every morning and every time you come back from a session actually makes the trip so much better. The resort has a lot of fun things to do besides surfing, we played a lot of ping pong and pool, also did a SUP tour through the mangroves which was super beautiful. Our house was great for our family, ac in the rooms worked really well and there were lots of places around the house to hang out and relax. The location of the resort is cool because of the views you get from every spot.

Aloita resort is the ,,Escape place,, I,m sure that everyone can find here the peace, inner connection and the things he never expect to find here. The food, accomodations, nature and amazing staff and owners gave me the holidays of my life.

Had the best experience at Aloita this October! Came here as a solo traveller and was made to feel welcome by all of the amazing staff from the very start. The rooms are amazing, the island is absolutely stunning and the food is delicious. There are amazing waves nearby and the surf boats are always ready to take you on the next adventure! I felt so at home on this island like being part of a family and I will definitely be back.

A simply incredible experience. Best surf holiday, and quite possible to best overall holiday we’ve ever been on. The resort is managed by Aaron and Kerry, who along with the team are extremely welcoming, knowledgable and a good laugh along the way. From taking you to the great surf spots, leading you through yoga sessions and generally helping out wherever you need, they’re extremely additive to the trip. We left feeling as though we’d made old friends even though it had only been a week. It is after all a surf resort, and while there is plenty to do outside of surfing, the surf itself is excellent. My wife and I weren’t amazing by any stretch, but with Aaron taking us out every day, and the surf guide River showing us how it’s done on the waves made it great fun and a big laugh every day. When there aren’t waves you can do a bit of snorkelling or catch a massage (and a bunch of other things that we didn’t get to). The food is also surprisingly excellent. Being a remote island we weren’t expecting much, but the staff make varied and excellent meals every day. Always served with a smile on their face they create a great atmosphere. Of course if you want a private week talking to no one you can have that (the island is extraordinarily beautiful), but we always like interacting with people and truly had a spectacular time with Aaron, Kerry, River and the other guests. No taste like a killer cocktail made with swag by Wilson, the island bartender (and spear fisherman!) or playing a pathetically bad game of pool before dinner while hearing the ocean pitter patter in the background. 10/10. If you’re on the fence, book - this crew is still there next season!

Pros: 1. All staff were so friendly, kind, and hardworking. 2. Food was amazing! 3 meals provided daily buffet style. Loved starting my day with Jamu (ginger, tumeric, etc shot) and a soya latte. 3. Fun surf! I mostly longboard. When there was a big swell the spot that's walking distance to the resort was a perfect head high glassy loooong left. On the other days I tested my limits and short boarded. 4. Aaron was an extremely knowledgable surf guide that eased my anxiety surfing new more difficult spots. 5. Complimentary yoga every morning with Keri. 6. The timeline of the day was great. I felt like I could fit in everything and was never rushed: 6:30 am yoga. Breakfast 7:15am. Boat leaving to surf 8:15am. Lunch 1 pm. Next surf around 3:15pm. Dinner at 7. So that left time to nap, swim, or get a massage in between :) 7. The massages!! Hot stone was the best! 8. The cute puppies running around the resort! 9. The photographers; Ben & Ryan TwinFin Media got the best shots of my husband and I. 10. Captain Youes (sp?), was a really good boat driver and knew how to maneuver amongst the swell so the boat ride was as safe and least bumpy as possible. 11. Comfortable bed and cold AC. Cons: I have really long thick hair, down to my butt, so I wish the water pressure in the shower was stronger, but if your hair isn't as long as mine, I'm sure it would be fine lol. Overrall 10/10! It was a great honeymoon spot that was luxurious and adventurous! We will definitely come back! Don't forget to tip the staff!

The place is absolutely amazing, very calm, the beach is very quiet, perfect place to relax and surf or do activities. The food is amazing, abundant, best quality and healthy. The people who work there are the best host you could ever ask for.
