Since its renovations this hotel now feels very slick and stylish. The rooms look great with its modern look, while still giving off warm and welcoming vibes. Beds are comfortable, and newly renovated bathrooms look great.
Unfortunately, all of this aesthetic appeal is let down somewhat by the staff. I was barely greeted or acknowledged by the reception staff, and I was made to feel like I was interrupting them. There was no offer of help for my luggage or even recognition that someone with 2 large suitcases (and a child) would need assistance.
The rooms no longer have phones inside them. Rather, the phone number to reception was provided during check-in. This normally wouldn't be an issue, however it seems like they just don't like answering their phone. I tested this theory myself by going into the lobby and calling the reception. Neither staff were attending to guests, and yet I can very plainly see the phone flashing and being ignored.
I loved the decor and stylish touches of this new-look Rydges. Sadly, my most memorable experience from this hotel was rolling the hotel baggage cart to my room by myself to take down my luggage.

The hotel itself was good , what wasn’t great was being woken up by 5 false fire alarms. Starting at 7am. All of which were followed by an even louder announcement.

The hotel is in a good location, 3 minutes walk from Victoria subway station, with multiple bus stops nearby, convenient for travel, nice staff, and convenient self-service check-in. The bed is too soft, the pillow is too high, and the sleep quality is not high. The most important thing is that the WiFi has serious security vulnerabilities. Once connected to the system, there will be a security prompt. More than 10 hours later, you will receive a text message verification code, and there are other ways to log in to Alipay! Remind friends who go there again that it is best not to connect to the hotel WiFi, let alone use payment-related systems!

Generally speaking, it's pretty good. I mainly travel by subway, but I have to walk a short distance from the hotel to the subway station. Everything else is pretty good. It's quiet in a busy area.

I went to Sydney to run the marathon and chose this hotel which is very close to the starting point. Although it is in North Sydney which is not very busy, the price is quite high because of the event. The hotel is not big and the breakfast is basically not suitable for Chinese people. It is also far from the general buffet breakfast in China.

It was a place I happened to stay at, but I had a great time for two nights. Public transportation was right next door, so it was easy to get around! However, there was no sidewalk, so I had to keep driving on the road.
