34 Guest House is a beautifully restored property, convenient to Old Town Setubal and the Av. Luisa Todi. Each room had the theme of a different region of Portugal, and was comfortably furnished and appointed. The rear patio is a pleasant place for morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. Our gracious hostess, Cristina, recommended local restaurants and informed us of the holiday weekend festivities , including a Fado performance in the Old Town square.

Our stay at 34 GuestHouse was one that we won't soon forget. Our host, Cristina, was one of the most delightful and helpful people we've met in all our travels in Portugal. She was in touch during our stay to ensure everything was going smoothly but it was when we experienced health issues in the first few days of our trip that her kindness and generosity shone through. She accommodated us by bringing our breakfast up to our room when we were unable (easily) to go up and down the stairs. She kept in touch to see how we were doing. She even offered to hold a room for us if we needed to spend an extra day in Setubal after an unexpected visit to the local hospital. We were able to move on to Evora (our next vacation stop) but she stayed in touch while we were there - providing excellent restaurant recommendations and checking in to see how we were doing health wise. 34 GuestHouse is a lovely accommodation - beautiful rooms, wonderfully decorated - but it's people like Cristina that bring you back again. Obrigada Cristina - you are a very special person and we hope our paths can cross again in the future.

Truly a beautiful space and in the perfect location with a short walk to restaurants, attractions, and the beaches. Staff/Hosts were lovely and very helpful, great communication. Room was well-equipped, shared spaces were welcoming, and with nice amenties and final touches! Truly enjoyed my stay.

Charming boutique hotel in a great location. Carla was extremely welcoming and helpful. Room small but comfortable and with coffee maker, water bath accessories. Room and common areas creatively decorated and enjoyable. Free coffee in library. Highly recommend!!

I loved EVERYTHING about my stay at 34Guesthouse. The design geek in me reveled in the bold design. The walker in me loved the walk-everywhere-easily location. I took advantage of the spacious common area on the ground floor to do a bit of laptop work. The industrial-strength no-charge coffee maker is heavenly. Throughout, Carla Tavares and her team were accommodating and made the stay so easy. I’m already planning my next stay.

The 34 Guest House is a wonderful place to stay. It is located in a quiet area, but close to everywhere you might want to visit: the central square with its restaurants, the fascinating Labor Museum, the Municipal Museum. Walk along the park on Ave. Todi and there are plenty of cafes to stop at on your way to see the old market or other destinations. If you decide to take the ferry to the beach at Troia you can buy a ready made sandwich in the supermarket beside the old market and have a picnic in Troia, or eat at one of the many restaurants in Troia. Just down the street from 34 Guest House you can get the local bus to Sesimbra for lunch, it is a hour long trip but who's in a rush? Next door to the 34 Guest House is a fabulous pizza place that I would recommend. Our room in the 34 Guest House was lovely, immaculately clean with daily maid service, and a great balcony overlooking the courtyard where breakfast was served. The bathroom had a great shower and was pristine. There is an automatic coffee machine in the dining room where you can help yourself to an excellent cup of coffee the way you like it. The wifi service was fast and reliable. The TV had multiple international channels. But the thing that really elevates staying at 34 Guest House is the staff, you could not hope to find a nicer, more helpful group of people wherever your travels may take you.

This place is joke. TV, Wifi didn't wor, and AC/heater stopped working in the evening. But the worst part is that after 6pm there is no staff in the building. Guests are literally left on their own if issues arise, and no one replied to messages sent via whatsapp, or phone calls until 3am to only say they were sorry for the inconvenience. The bathroom had an awful musty/moldy smell. It got worse after we used the shower, and because we kept the bathroom door shut, the moldy smell was unbearable. We had to open the window eventhough itt was super cold outside. If you have allergies or asthma, stayawayy from this place. It seems that mold is not treated as a healthy hazard as it should. Paid 130 euros for this place, so it wasn't a cheap stay, and it was the worst hotel experience I had during my trip in Portugal, when I stayed in 6 different hotel across the country.

Stayed at this great B&B as a one day stopover between Evora and Cascais. The Coimbra room was very comfortable and we loved the decor - especially the books theme in the bathroom. We were warmly greeted and able to check in early. We organised our own breakfast - delicious bakery was nearby and the Portuguese tarts were incredible. Helped ourselves to coffee from the machine in the communal lounge and we were set. Position of 34 Guest House was excellent - in the historical centre and close to the small port area with several fish restaurants. Sebutal itself is quite industrial and not as charming as other places. It was fine for a day.
