A delightful experience at Home The Residence. A lovely, human-sized hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Hell Ville and Ambatoulouk, come and discover a little hidden treasure of Nosy Bé. Although there were only 2 of us, we opted for the magnificent 2-bedroom villa with Jacuzzi right on the water. Huge in size with 300 m2 traditionally built with a Madagascar stone base and a wooden roof, woven with palm trees. Fully equipped kitchen with its storage room, large bar, large dining table, huge living room opening onto the garden. Night side, a lounge area, and 2 huge bedrooms with 2 en-suite bathrooms to match. The whole is decorated with tasteful local crafts. All rooms overlook the 400 m2 private garden directly on the water, rewarding you with an enchanting setting every time you wake up. We took the half-board option and started each morning with a wide selection of à la carte breakfasts made only with local and seasonal ingredients. Several fresh fruit juices, pastries (good but not like in France), varied fruit plates every day, fresh eggs from the hens in the homemade henhouse, boiled, fried, scrambled or in various omelets and several traditional Malagasy dishes, we were spoiled for choice. In the evening, in a cozy atmosphere, sip really cheap cocktails (4€ for a mojito) and excellent quality in the lounge before joining your table by the beach with a magnificent view of the bay and the valley. For the evening meal, a varied menu with daily specials. All fish, seafood and lobsters are all caught locally and the very reasonable prices allow in the half-board package to have 2 lobsters or Cameron shrimps cooked on the plancha with a choice of grilled vegetables, fresh pasta or potatoes. Needless to say, the lobster and Cameron shrimps seduced us several times! Chef Damiano is Italian, present every day to welcome you as a friend, he knows how to prepare delicious fresh and homemade dishes. In addition to all the local fish, one evening we had fresh tagliatelle with mozzarella (from Italy this time) and seafood. An emblematic dish of Italian cuisine which is far from simple because you need good pasta, good seafood, good mozzarella, but above all to create a well-balanced sauce to compliment all the ingredients without overpowering them. Here Damiano's combination is perfect and I can only warmly recommend them. On the menu there are some meats (pork, duck and the local zebu) but I recommend you to take advantage of fresh and local fish as much as possible. Damiano will also be able to recommend excellent restaurants for your discoveries of the island, whether it is Papillon in Hellville or the Cacao bar on the superb beach of Andilana. Every day we also
