"This hotel delivers everything you want from a family holiday. Although it is situated away from the centre of the village, we found this to be an advantage for our family, preferring a quiet location. Only 5 mins walk to the Chuo main terminal, where you can catch the free local shuttle bus to the ski fields. Getting to the hotel from Iiyama station was also easy via Nagaden Bus No.9 from bus stop 2, which drops you off right outside the hotel (last stop). We had breakfast and dinner included. Dinner was exceptional with a different Japanese 10-course menu every night. We also added the optional extras which had horse meat one night, and A5 wagyu on other nights. Onsite onsen was great after a full day's worth of skiing. We also found the hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly, and Yumi was on hand to help with any odd requests. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable holiday experience!"

"Wow, what a magnificent place, we really loved our stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. The photos do not do the place justice at all. Our room was spacious and cozy and had a toilet. Our bed was prepared for us when we went out for evening meal. Coffee and tea making facilities were provided. We were privided yutakas for our stay. The hosts are so helpful and friendly. We added breakfast to our stay, and it was superbly prepared in a private dining area for us to enjoy The location was convenient, easy walking to the town and to the ski gondola. We used the private and public ensens at Sumiyosa, both were immaculate with toiletries provided. The public onsen definitely felt hotter than the private ensen, but both were so relaxing. I would love to stay here again."

"My review for this place is not as negative as some of the comments on Google or trip and here is the reason why: i stayed in 3 different places in Nozawa osen this trip, this has by far the best value for money, cheapest with private toilet and real onsen. Location is good and the bed / futon was made for me instead of me having to make my own bed in other places and with shared bathroom and no real onsen. This place provided me with hot water and green tea and snack inside the room of which some other places didn’t. There is a dog in the premise and it barks when you first walk in, I think he is notifying his owner of new guest as the old man’s hearing is not good. The dog never barked at me anymore when I go in and out of the premise once I have checked in. The old man doesn’t speak English and he is not the nicest Japanese you will ever meet, but Google translate works fine."

"Nozawa Onsen Village is not big. I found the hotel by pushing my luggage according to the navigation. The living room is very warmly decorated, with free tea and coffee, various toys, and the staff are hospitable. The breakfast is okay, the room is clean, the bathhouse is relatively small, and there is a basement for storing ski equipment."

"The ryokan owners are very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and very clean. Love the cats and lovely breakfast each morning. We had a kaiseki dinner on the first night which was at a very reasonable price and every dish was so nicely presented and delicious. We particularly enjoyed the homemade umeshu. Oishi!!!"
