When you book with Primer Inn you know there is always a minimum standard that you will find. No surprises: clean rooms, hot water in the shower, beds big enough for 2 people, breakfast service (optional), a pub/beefeater nearby... Unless you have the budget for a big and posh 5* hotel, just a good option to safe yourself some headaches

Worst premier inn I’ve ever stayed in! I’ve been staying in your hotels all around the country for twirling for over 10+ years and I can honestly say this is the worst. We also paid for breakfast: usually I can book in and have breakfast at 6:30am, but as I was told in this hotel ‘Not in this hotel your not’ so that was pointless. I ask at reception for my money back, the reception was not a lot of help and very simple, had me standing there for 20 mins while he is trying to sort it. While I’m standing there he starts talking to a cat that’s in reception. My daughter is allergic to them, I tell him my daughter is allergic to them, he then done a nervous laugh then just carried on. My daughter’s allergies started really flaring up, ended up having her in a shower trying to sort her out, she forgot her EpiPens and we had also ran out of tablets, lucky someone in the restaurant did have some and helped me or I would of ended up in the hospital that night. Out room wasn’t nice. Had white marks in the headboard, I don’t want to even think what it is, coffee marks all down the wall. Poo marks down the wall in the bathroom. The shower curtain rail was broken and also the curtain was partly hanging off, had the worst night sleep ever. We was near the door so that was slamming all night with people walking in and out. Down stairs as your walking in the corridor team the teams room, it stank of ****, but in the morning the smell was gone. Not happy!!

We stayed on a Wednesday because my husband is having cancer treatment at Southampton Hospital and the room was nice apart from being set up for one person - one chair, one towel etc. spoke to reception and they said to phone before our next stay the following Sunday for 5 nights. No one answered the phone and I tried 10 times. I emailed and no one replied. We arrived and the room was AWFUL. I was pretty sure I booked a superior room again but they said not. No fridge for my husbands meds (essential) one chair, one towel and so depressingly bleak. We explained to reception we needed a fridge and they said they couldn’t move us. Apparently not another room free with a fridge on a Sunday. I don’t believe it, I bet they don’t service rooms on a Sunday to avoid paying staff extra. We had to lug all our bags downstairs again - no lift and my husband isn’t allowed to carry anything heavy. The guy on reception really didn’t care. Having cancer treatment is stressful enough without this sort of thing happening. We moved to Doubletree by Hilton, what a difference. AND premier inn have billed us for one night. Appalling customer service and will never book premier inn again.

I stayed here from 11th January until the 26th of February because my husband was tragically injured in an accident and was taken to Southampton Hospital for a 47 day stay whilst recovering from his injuries. I booked this Premier Inn to be closer to my husband, as it's the closest to the hospital. And in the time the I stayed here I received EXCELLENT customer service from the staff. I was looked after very well and if I had any worries they were there for me and sorted things out for me. Some days I would be in tears, especially the day we were told by the consultant that my husband had to have his leg amputated. The staff were so supportive and asked me everytime they saw me if my husband was ok and if I was ok, also if there was anything they could do for me. I cannot thank them enough. The staff that went above and beyond especially Shannon Rebecca Laston Phil Marjie Michael They were amazing and such a credit to you at Premier Inn 😊 The rooms are clean, fresh and the beds are comfortable. The hotel always smelt nice and the cleaners were thorough. Highly Recommend This Premier Inn

Beds extremely comfortable. Stayed here many times but on this occasion we were only given 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel between the two of us and the room smelled of smoke - very strongly. Perhaps whoever checks the rooms prior to occupation might like to be a little more thorough. We were only here one night on this occasion but would have asked for more towels if we had been staying longer

Stayed with family ready to embark on our first cruise abroad. Easy to find with reasonably priced parking (£3) overnight. Lovely big rooms and bathrooms with bath and overhead shower. Comfy beds and adjustable heating with windows that open if you need that bit of fresh air. We paid £39 per room which was booked 3 months ahead of our holiday

My daughter and I stayed one night, I researched all of the premier inns in the area and the reviews on this one weren’t wrong. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, quiet and cosy. The shower was incredible! My daughter had forgotten her phone charger and the receptionist had a ‘box of spares’ which we were allowed to search through and borrow. The £3 parking was reasonable and lasted until check out (even if you leave and come back). We decided not to have breakfast and we found a decent Starbucks that is less than 5 minutes down the road. Would definitely stay again.
