The scenery is beautiful."

"We had a window to get away from Auckland, so we decided to ditch the car and book the train Thursday to Sunday, so we'd get one midweek ski day and one weekend day at Turoa. We found Alpine Motel through reviews. It was well priced for a room including a kitchenette and a perfect location right in the centre of town. The room was clean and cozy with central heating, electric blankets and a great shower. We had a lot of snow gear, but we fit nicely (one big suitcase, 3 carry on suitcases and two back packs full). The room included discount cards to TCB to rent ski gear a 2 minute walk away (stored it in the kitchen area), then headed to New World one minute beyond that. The shuttle pick up is even closer. The restaurants and cafes were all around us. The hot tub is clean and hot. The personal service was exceptional. You don't need someone present 24/7. You just need to communicate if needed. We felt like we moved right into town for our 3 night adventure. We'll be back, thank you."
