Ōhope Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park ★★★★

"It would be great to see some extra creativity in winter around keeping kids and families engaged, when it’s harder to make the most of the park facilities. The main pool was just too cold for our kids to swim in, although they loved the soak pool. Simple things like a weekend movie night, games or activity packs for kids, a scavenger hunt around the park, or some organised family activities would make a big difference. A pizza night could also be fun, with pizza packs available to purchase with dough and toppings for families to make their own pizzas using the pizza oven. We also found staff weren’t very visible or available during our stay, so when we did try to approach reception for suggestions of what we could do around the park with the kids, it felt a bit hectic. There was often only one person managing both the shop and reception with several people needing assistance at once. Our biggest concern was the strong ********* smoke throughout the park, which kept triggering the kids asthma. People were openly smoking in shared areas where children were playing and although staff were around these areas at times doing maintenance or cleaning tasks, unfortunately it wasn't looked into. Ōhope is such a stunning beach and so much fun so regardless of some of the things outlined above (which I've tried to write in a constructive way), there is still always going to be some magic to a stay here ."

"We stayed at the Beach point for 3 night room 420(i think). a beautiful appt. looking straight out over the beach and Bay of Plenty. The hosts where friendly and checkin a breeze as we were given a choice of 2 rooms a nice surprise,The beach was just across the rood and local cafes and resturants with walking distance. A short 6 min. drive into Whakatane for all the main grocery stores and facilities. The appt. was clean and extremely comfortable. Beautiful furnishings and well equipt kitchen, dinging room, lounge room, great bathroom and bedroom, washer, dryer. Large balcony with outdoor table and chairs and sun lounges. Just great would stay again if in Ohhope. Thank you Wendy"

"Managers were so nice over the phone, then when we were there, they texted me, that we were too noisey, I said we were celebrating my husbands birthday and also asked permission for friends to come for breakfast, I got text twice, one to keep the noise down, not music just talking and the other text to ask if they could check the water meter?, then we were on the balcony , our guest looked over the rail, only for the woman who was lingering around to ask us if we were smoking? no one even smoked with our group. beautiful place to stay, but very weird Management, not friendly at all!!!"
