Beware of cancellation by the Hotel. They will give your rooms away to their contractors. This is bad management and may effect your plans. I would recommend looking else where. I will never use this Hotel again.

Booked and paid in full for a stay December 10th-13th in October and they called to cancel the booking on the 10th afternoon just before we were due to check in, leaving us stranded! They said they would refund the money however a month later I still hadn’t received the refund and had to claim through ***********. Due to changes in exchange rate it cost me £20 in exchange rate fees. Disgusting treatment I’ll never book here again.

Have charged me twice for the same stay and are refusing to give a refund. I made a booking through Agoda for a one night stay at a cost of £63.65 and paid through Agoda but upon checking in to the hotel I was told I had to pay the hotel directly for my stay. Conveniently, the payment I made to Agoda didn't show as paid on my bank card until the day after my stay so I couldn't prove at the time of check-in I had already paid. After several telephone calls and emails they sent me an email saying they are refusing to refund me and they forwarded me an email which showed my reservation on their system. In this reservation, it clearly states that the hotel would receive £56.16 via V-Payment for my stay. For those who don't know, V-Payment is what merchants such as Agoda use to pay hotels. Agoda was paying the hotel £56.16 for my stay which is the £63.65 I paid Agoda for my stay minus the commission that Agoda keeps. Despite them forwarding me the evidence on their system that clearly states they were being paid via V-Payment for my stay, therefore meaning I should never have been made to pay when checking in, they are still refusing a refund. I am now having to put a chargeback claim through my bank which could take up to 4 months to resolve... Avoid this place as they may steal from you too.

My parents have been using this hotel for a while now as it’s close to family members in the outskirts of Manchester. We have stayed for a wedding here once before too. We had high hopes for the deluxe rooms we had all booked. We knew we would be arriving slightly earlier at after midday (even with the snow) on the Saturday we stayed, so phoned to check it was okay. We were told that it would be fine and our rooms would be ready. The manager had also spoken to my family and said they would make sure we got “the best” rooms in the deluxe category. We arrived just after midday, and were told we’d have to wait for the rooms to be ready (which is fine) we went and got a drink and used the free drink voucher promised (we had to ask for it) in no time our 2 rooms were ready. We got to our deuce rooms and to say we were underwhelmed is an understatement. Our room was drab, looked well used and had a lack of care it seemed. The first thing that hit us was that the room looked, and was small. When stayed before we were in a standard room and that was much bigger. The bed is supposed to be a King, but it looked much smaller. It was covered in a thin crisp white quilt and just 2 small pillows. No other pillows were to be found (no extra towels either) There was a lack of natural light in the room, which we soon realised was because the view from the window was a brick wall. This to me doesn’t say deluxe. The next thing we noticed was the damaged furniture and fittings throughout. Burn marks on the table (from a cigarette?) and chips and sections missing. The bathroom was okay. The bath area was clean enough but not like it was cleaned daily or every other day etc. with grime in the corners. We left for the day and came back and decided to ask for extra pillows that were provided with no issue from a lovely night receptionist. Sadly there must have been an event last night and the door to the corridor we were staying in was left open (even though we kept closing it) and we kept having children running, shouting and knocking on all our room doors for about an hour (around midnight) We went for breakfast the next day and the disappointment continued. Most of the hot food was missing (we had to ask) no cups or glasses for juice or tea/coffee (we had to ask) and the employee went off and chatted to her work colleague in the upper level behind a partial screen, rather than do what they said they’d do. A lovely gentleman who seemed to be doing most the work got some for us a long while later. No juice left (we had to ask) We also then heard someone asking if they could get a cappuccino rather than just standard coffee, and they were told to go get one from the bar in another part of the hotel. Would it have hurt to stopped the chat you were having with the other employee at the entrance to the dining area and just helped the customer get one? Really disappointing experience, and we will go back to booking in the city centre of Manchester in the future for

So many things are great about this hotel including the great staff! This is my third time staying there. Unfortunately this time the room I was placed in was a little bit shabby. It was really annoying as everything that let the room down could have been rectified by a keen eye and general maintenance. Testimony to this hotel though, my 2 daughters who have stayed pretty much everywhere with me said the bed was the most comfortable bed they have ever stayed in! Please Victoria hotel read and sort these minor details out!

Room smelt of stale smoke. Always a problem here. Mattresses are cheap and uncomfortable. Poor shower.

What can I say about this place? A shambles for a start. We were due to arrive early Friday afternoon but our plans changed & we decided to delay our arrival by a few hours. I phoned the hotel to tell them we'd by arriving a few hours later than planned, when I spoke to the person on the desk (Sam) she told me that there had been an unexpected problem & that a boiler went out & our room wouldn't have any heat or hot water & would we like a refund or to still stay. They never had a room available the same size so we agreed we'd take 2 smaller rooms so that's fine. Once we arrived at the hotel (just before 5 o'clock) we got the 2 keys & went up to our rooms. One of the rooms was fine bar for a large spiders web on the window but the other room had no heating & obviously hadn't been cleaned either, can of juice lying on the floor & both coffee cups with Blackcurrant in them. Back down to reception & we get moved to the room across, that room has no heating in the toilet but we cope & get on with it. Spend the night in the rooms then awake to find that there's a bill that's been posted under the door of both rooms for £40 odd pound (we'd already paid beforehand) back down to reception & spoke to poor young girl on the desk who was perplexed about it all. Eventually agreed that it was a mistake. The hotel has a lot of young staff who obviously haven't been trained properly, management really need to get a grip of this place. If you want a stress free break then avoid this Fawlty Towers place
