Pinheiros da Balaia Villas

I traveled with a young child and the mezzanine wall at one point is only 79cm high. The drop below is over 25ft and there are no safety rails or barriers. The manhole cover in the children’s park kept coming off, due to damage to the casing underground, exposing wires. Some of the complex is not fenced off and there are sheer drops. All these hazards meant we had to constantly vigilant of the child. The nearby beaches are 1.4 miles, 1.8 miles and 1.9 miles and also involves a lot of hill walking. To get to the main road from the villas is 0.5 miles. This road has no pavement and uneven in parts. If you have transfers as part of your holiday package, you have to walk to the pick up point, on the main road where there is no shelter, because a coach cannot get down this road. The garage door to the villa was left wide open, allowing anyone to access the villa via an internal door. We were told this was due to the key of the villa next door which had been programmed to open ours, as we did not have a key. The bathroom and toilet have no privacy lock. The only person you can speak to regarding problems is the receptionist, the management are only contactable by email. Limited staff, badly managed 2* at best

Fantastic place to stay. All the staff were brilliant. Very nice and clean. Probably one of the nicest we have been too. We did use the bbq and had a nice evening used the bar and restaurant couple of times however we booked with easyjet and there was no mention of the 700mtr walk from where the coach dropped us of at 10.40pm. And the same walk back to be picked up at 5.50am. We were a party of four pensioners two of us with walking difficulties. But this should not reflect on the place itself as our stay there was fantastic.

1 key card!!!!! 5 individuals sharing a room and 1 card is not sufficient- different agendas different sleep routines how is one card acceptable- it’s not. 40 years od age not a party head but only one key between 5 people not good enough asked for second key and told no. 5 diffdwrner. Individuals at least 2-3 let’s required. For example 2 of us want sleep tonight 3 want to go out this is a disgrace !

My husband,myself and 17 and 20 year old son stayed for 5 nights. The villa was absolutely stunning, the place is very clean with a beautiful pool. The staff were so friendly particularly the lady in the bar/restaurant The food is fabulous ate a few times there and all enjoyed every meal. Beds so comfy and only a nice short away from bars and restaurants. Also new town( but tbh it's a dump) however old town is lovely especially on Halloween night, wow the Portuguese put on an amazing night. Highly recommend these villas

Really enjoyed our stay here, villa was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Housekeeping came everyday except day after check-in and day before check-out. New Town and Aldi is within walking distance from Villas, Bolt or Uber will be needed for Old Town, we walked to the beach a day and it was a trek so id advise a Bolt again if your looking to go to the beach. Found the walls in the villa to be very thin, could here neighbours dragging chairs about and I could even make out their conversation in the mornings. Lady that works in the bar is just lovely and so friendly, went looking for her before we left but we couldn't see her -she took time out to ensure everyone was OK. Exceptional customer service from her. All in all we would return again, kids loved the pool!!!

We stayed as a group of 6 women for 4 nights. The villa was clean and well equipped but the bed set up in the lounge was a little strange. But ok for what we needed it for. There was a lack of mirrors and plug sockets so that could be improved on but other than that it was good. The sprinklers come on at night in the garden of the villa so don't leave your washing on the dryer on the lawn or it'll be soaked in the morning....we learnt the hard way haha. The receptionist when we checked in wasn't the most friendliest or welcoming which isn't what we needed after a long journey. Pool area was lovely and the pool bar was great. The toastie was the best I've ever had and the pizzas were also really good. Cocktails were lovely and the staff there were friendly and fun. The villa isn't near anything so we used Uber everyday but it was only about 9euros into town so that was fine.
