ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort by IHG

This branch is nowhere near what an InterContinental should offer. The room and amenities are worn out. No standing shower, only a bathtub. That’s really not what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Service was frustrating too. Staff could not communicate well in English, which led to us getting wrong information when we asked about toiletries. Had to pull out a translation app ourselves just to get a straight answer. Breakfast was a mess. long queues and not enough seats, even at 7am. These are serious issues. Please look into them before they do any more damage to the InterContinental name.

We had a great stay, people are super polite and a lot of choices. We had only one problem with the restaurant because the allergy sheets wasn’t updated and we risked to get food poisoning.

Booked this resort following high recommendations from colleagues, but peak July proved to be a harsh reality check. The experience got off to a rough start with the parking. We were relegated to Zone C, over a 10-minute walk from the main building. The tight, crowded spots made maneuvering a 7-seater frustrating. Returning after 10 PM meant navigating the pitch-black pathway on foot ourselves, as no valet service was provided. For a renowned hospitality brand, this felt remarkably subpar. Dining was equally challenging. Resort restaurants were constantly fully booked, forcing us to drive out for dinner every evening—a tough situation for anyone without a rental car. Breakfast was a test of patience, with queues exceeding 50 people before 7 AM at two of the venues. The sole saving grace was a walk-in Okinawan eatery offering unlimited minced tuna; it was truly delicious and easily the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the rest of the amenities couldn't redeem the visit. Nearly 90% of all activities were booked out through October, leaving no room for spontaneous resident guests. The pool was tiny, congested, and riddled with sand on the bottom due to the absence of proper rinse stations for beachgoers. One stay was more than enough—I won't be back.

Queued a long time to check in with heavy bags and all the suitcases. Over 1.5 hours. Room was not beach view, despite booking. Was noisy pool view. Pool open til 10pm. Very old shabby hotel. Plastic Lino on floors in rooms, stains all over carpet. Very run down. Balcony has no chair to sit outside and open rusty drain. Was disgusting. The hotel manager told me this was normal for the whole of Okinawa and that no hotels had furniture in balconies -well guess what? I’m writing this from my balcony seating 20 minutes down the road in my new hotel. Cannot believe the prices they charge for this place! Wanted to check out immediately. Spoiled the holiday for about 3 hours of stress where the hotel were refusing to refund us and avoiding the third party agent who were trying to contact them. In the end they released 3 nights back to me but we were charged 1 night in a room we didn’t even use or stay in! This is the WORST hotel I’ve ever seen in all my experience of staying in hotels around the world.
