Although the rooms and facilities are a bit old, the service is very friendly. The location of the hotel is very good, just a 15-minute walk from the old port of Stari Gard. There is a path along the beach leading to the port from the hotel. The hotel rooms and restaurants also have sea views. The breakfast was pretty good too. You didn't have to do it yourself. The waiter provided a lot of bread, drinks, cheese, sausages, and omelettes according to the number of people.
Compared to Hvar Port, it is much quieter here and there are no tourist groups. Of course, there aren’t that many boats going back and forth to Split.

Hart and soul of Hotel Antica, Jelica is a superstar. I came back with my wife after three years and the service got even better! Relaxing and drinking cocktails by the pool, overlooking the mediterranean sea and dining domestic Hvar island food is something that boosts up my energy level to 100% - and I recommend it to everyone!

I celebrated my birthday and stayed for 4 days, with friends. It was absolutely amazing! The location is perfect and in beautiful surroundings. The hotel manager Jelica is an absolute star! Jelica goes above and beyond to accommodate and assist. I want to come back. Next time, will definitely be for a longer period of time, to explore more. It felt like home away from home. Would absolutely recommend Hotel Antica!

We had a wonderful time at Hotel Antica made that much more special by Jelica and her team. The hotel is about to undertake a major renovation which will make it the 5* it’s setting and staff deserve. We will watch with interest to see how it develops

From the room, to the view, from food to the service, everything was extremely beautiful and set for our pleasure. Mrs. Jelica was phenomenal and always on yours service, no matter what time it is. If you looking for place in which you be spoiled and everything is set to pleasure yours needs, Antica is that place.

Amenities & cleanliness - Hotel has nice communal spaces (including pool & loungers) but the rooms are very outdated and not clean (eg water in toilet brush holder, soap across bathroom). Would not say that the price of the rooms is reflective of the quality. Breakfast - was included in the price for us and variety of options but quality was poor. Staff - nice staff but didn’t have much helpful information about the local area (eg tried to charge us €40 for a taxi to Hvar old town claiming this was a good rate but the normal rate at port is €30/35. Also didn’t know about buses or ferry times from Stari Grad even though hotel located next to the port & bus stop. Location - nice quiet location next to ferry port. 20 min walk into Starri Grad. Overall - would not say this is value for money. There was a blurred line between space for the manager & what we assumed was her family (may not be permanent residents we weren’t sure)

Wow - so glad we came out of Havar to stay here ! It’s a small hotel with a pool, fab breakfast and the friendliest of top class care and guidance by Jelica ! She made us all so welcome, advising on restaurants , places to go , making us local cocktails and ad hoc bbq when the rain was terrible ! She even drove us to collect e-bikes and drew out the 22km route - it was our favourite day of our 2 week tour of Croatia absolutely stunning scenery Looking forward to coming to see the new hotel extension Thankyou from all of us for looking after us so well

During an unexpected visit to Hvar, we decided to stay at the Antica Hotel and were immensely pleasantly surprised by the kind and welcoming personnel. Along with a beautiful decor, clean room and a gorgeous terrace with a pool, the hotel staff took great care of all of our requests and wishes. The breakfast was phenomenal and, despite us not informing in advance, they provided us with a gluten free menu. As our stay here was spontaneous, the personnel gave us recommendations for the beautiful places on the island which we visited, they offered an option for transportation and bike rental. This visit was short and unexpected, so we are positive that we’ll be returning back being that the experience in this hotel was more than excellent!

This hotel does a good job with smoke and mirrors on the internet, but don't be fooled. This is a dank and musty hotel that cannot hold a candle to the the Maslina next door. It is convenient from the ferry, but that's the end of the good news. Rooms in old white carpet, hot and not particularly clean. The bathroom downstairs from the main lobby smells so musty and of mildew that you need to hold your breath to use it. This is a hotel that is very obviously trying to milk every last dime out of unknowing customers who get lured in by the photos on the internet, but there is no money being put into it at all. Strange vibe from staff make it an uncomfortable experience. It is rough around the edges at best. It is empty for a reason. Caveat Emptor or Buyer Beware!
