"I booked this hotel because of its high ratings on Ctrip. The result: This is the first time I've encountered a hotel where daily cleaning is only available upon request. If you don't ask for it, no one cleans the room, and this wasn't mentioned during check-in. Coming back from Disneyland at night, I found the bed and bathroom completely untouched. When I called the front desk, they said it was too late and housekeeping had already finished for the day. Also, the hotel rooms don't provide disposable toothbrushes; you have to go to the front desk on the first floor to get them if needed."

The Richland ★★

"We stayed at The Richland while visiting our daughter in August. I was determined that we were not staying in a large hotel with families who were visiting Disneyland! Our daughter is 22 so we’re well past that stage. And I don’t like renting houses - I refuse to utilize any of my culinary skills while on vacation (is it really a vacation if I have to make breakfast????). Prior to booking, I was graciously warned by the hotel staff that it would be warm in August….LOL….people in Southern California haven’t experienced a heat wave like New England summer temps of 90 degrees with 98% humidity! Since we live on the East Coast (Rhode Island) we found Old Towne charming and the architecture reminiscent of home. There are wonderful restaurants within walking distance. We absolutely loved the hotel! We rented the Attic Suite which was beautifully decorated. While I found the attic to be warm upon arrival (it’s an attic), I was able to adjust the thermostat and the room got quite cool. The hotel is well maintained and there are a lot of special touches that elevate your stay. I was so happy that we chose to stay at The Richland and look forward to visiting Old Towne again! PS….Be sure to get breakfast at the Filling Station! We ate there multiple mornings - it was fantastic!"

"I stayed here for two nights to watch an MLB game and visit California Disney. This time I traveled by public transport, and the bus stop was right in front, which was convenient. The parking lot was also large, so it was good for people using rental cars. The hotel rooms were very spacious, and there was a pool and jacuzzi, so it was comfortable. Breakfast was included, and I was very satisfied with fruit, yogurt, etc. The welcome coffee service was also good. All the staff were also very friendly and greeted me often. I would like to use this hotel again next time."
