This was our third time here and it continues to impress. Being only 28 guests at capacity you get luxury service and quality all day every day . It maybe older in decor to say a Qualia but far exceeds anything we have to offer in Oz. If want to relax in style with quality food and service then this is a must for. Anything in the Morris Escapes travel businesses is top class

I really liked the Orpheus Island Lodge - it was simple, quiet and complete. Yes, maybe a little rough around the back edges, but the service was incredible. You just asked anyone for anything and even though there was no "central" area, it just magically got done. Whether it was the persons responsibility or not. Overall, the staff at the Orpheus Lodge, Crissy, Nico, Chloe, Stephen, Elise, and Lachlan everyone was absolutely incredible. Absolutely amazing staff. Kudos to everyone there. Well done. Take a bow. Then there was the food. OMG - yes, fixed menu, but they accommodated every request and every change. The meals were excellent! Compliments to the entire team, all around. Thank you for such a great experience,

We just spent five utterly devine nights on Orpheus and were blown away by the location, activities, food, service staff… everything! The lodge has been around for a while, and you don’t need to look too far to notice its 1980s bones, but current owners the Morris Group have done a beautiful job contemporising and luxxing-up the resort which is located in a beautiful part of the Coral Sea. With only 14 rooms you can expect an exclusive experience with super-personalised service. The inclusions are some of the most generous even at this high price-point with three amazing meals per day, free access to motorised dinghys for a DIY snorkel or beach experience, daily curated activities which can include snorkel tours on other islands, and a full open bar 24/7 (I may have tried to drink my body weight in Champagne!) The resort staff are universally brilliant, every single person seems to enjoy trying to make your stay as awesome as possible. This is world class service. Probably our top highlight amongst many was the food. A personalised four course meal each night with incredible ingredients and technique. The night before our stay we ate at the Morris Group’s premium Japanese restaurant Terasu in Townsville, yet the Japanese meal we ate on Orpheus was better in every way. And fully included in our stay! Thank you to chef Ado and your amazing team. Orpheus Island Lodge has just been added to the prestigious Luxury Lodges of Australia list, and based on our experiences it very much deserves its place amongst Australia’s best resorts. Barefoot luxury at its finest. Thanks to Chrissie and the entire Orpheus team for making our stay so special and memorable. We loved it!

We visit Orpheus Island each year, so obviously we’re fans. My previous reviews talk of what the resort is like, and the things that draw us to keep retuning; so, the focus this time is on our experience regarding the level of care, attention to detail, and diligence of the chefs, who went above and beyond to ensure my wife’s rather difficult medical dietary requirement was not only catered to, but that she had exquisite fine dining meals every morning, noon, and night. My wife emailed the Orpheus team a few weeks prior to our arrival, explaining the details of her recently acquired dietary requirement. Acknowledging the level of professionalism that we know exists in the culinary team, she provided details of what she does at home in terms of special types of food and additives etc, simply as a guideline to assist in their understanding of the actual dietary requirement. When we arrived on the island and met with one of the chefs, we were astounded to hear that not only did they fully understand all the intricacies of the dietary requirement, but they had gone ahead and sourced every special type of food ingredient that my wife had mentioned in her initial email, and that was just so they could be certain that every meal they prepared for her was absolutely perfect, both to her taste as well as her dietary need. We have been impressed and very grateful for the efforts of chefs in several high-class restaurants, who we consider to be very special people, for their assistance with my wife's dietary needs; and without diminishing those efforts in any way, what has been achieved for us by the chefs on Orpheus Island is just on another level. A special thank you to Ado and Sam, the two chefs we met during our stay on Orpheus this year, for everything they have done. Also, none of what we have seen and experienced on Orpheus would be possible without the vision and leadership of the resort's general manager, Chrissie Williams. Thank you to Chrissie and the entire team. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Australia has some pretty great luxury lodges at the same price point, but Orpheus is a standout - especially if you want to snorkel, dive or fish. We snorkeled every day - a mix of included excursions, a private guided tour and hiking over the hill with our gear to the gorgeous reef just off the beach at Picnic Bay. Other guests, who were there for the fishing, reported similarly excellent adventures. We were also hugely impressed by the consistently first-class dining experience. My barometer for a great culinary team is when you can't tell when it's the chef's day off. At many lodges, that's when things get a bit wobbly. At Orpheus, the 6-star quality continues without missing a beat. The team, led by the delightful and capable Chrissie Williams, continues the high-end experience. You can expect smart, friendly service with a thousand thoughtful touches. We're already booked to go back next year.

This is an amazing place. The setting, staff, food and wine, activities are all top notch. The staff all went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It would be unfair to single out any one particular staff member as they were all amazing but I must say I was very impressed with Chrissy (the Kiwi General Manager ) pitching in to drive our snorkelling boat! I can’t think of anything I would change and we are already planning a return visit .

This was our third visit to Orpheus Island. During our first trip for my birthday in 2022, we loved the place so much that we advance booked for five years in a row; and I'm pleased to say that each visit has been just as memorable as the previous. There are two things, which to us, are the essence of what makes our time on Orpheus so special, and what keeps bringing us back. Firstly there's the food. Each meal is curated individually under the control of, for the second year now, Chef Josh Childs. We've eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the world, and Josh's creations I believe would equal any of them. It's rare in a high end restaurant to meet the Executive Chef, but as soon as you arrive on the island Josh is there to talk to you, to understand any dietary preferences that you may have. Josh is also apparently intolerant of delays longer than about 10 seconds in getting prepared meals out to guests, as on more than one occasion we've heard the familiar 'hello', and looked up to see Josh himself bringing a meal to a guest's table. One final point on the food at Orpheus, the 'Dining With The Tides' experience at the end of the dock is absolutely unique, and we book that once on each of our visits. The second thing that's so special about Orpheus Island is the staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and the staff are united in the singular purpose of ensuring that your stay is simply 'just perfect'. The Management/Supervisory people - Chrissy, Nicole, Elise, have been there for multiple years; and much to my surprise they remember and implement our unique preferences automatically from the instant that we arrive. The rest of the crew are all just simply nice people, from all over the world; and so friendly and accomodating. We talk at length with many of these people, they're genuinely happy to stand and chat, and as a result we become close to many and regard them as friends. Unfortunately most of them though will only spend one season on the island, then they move on to somewhere else in their journey; but that's good for them, and it's also necessary for us, so that we have the opportunity of getting to know the crew who will be there on our next visit. Thank you to everyone at Orpheus Island Lodge, past and present, for making our visits so special.

Had a wonderful time. Staff were so lovely and efficient and the food was delicious. The place was amazing. We went deep sea fishing, snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking and walked across the island. Lots to do if you really want to keep busy or just lie back and enjoy the ambience. Would go again in a heartbeat.
