Hotel Monterey le Frere Osaka

Not too far from Osaka Station, and you can reach the entrance via an underground passage. The surrounding area is very convenient, and the triple room was a decent size. The front desk is on the second floor, and they have a luggage scale, which is a nice touch.

The hotel is a bit far from the subway station, but by the third day, we figured out that we could use the underground walkways across the street, which was great for avoiding the sun. Plus, in the evenings, there were many bento boxes on discount underground, offering a much wider variety than the convenience store downstairs, which was excellent value for money. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from major shopping centers like Daimaru, Hankyu, and Yodobashi. The free coffee on the second floor of the hotel was a daily must-have, and there was also a microwave for heating food, which was very convenient. Our room rate included an extra bed, and the three of us slept comfortably on the nice mattress. The room and bathroom were compact but perfectly functional. The cleanliness wasn't perfect; we could see dust on the table every day, but for around 600 during the summer holidays, I still think it was worth it.

Not far from Osaka Station, about a 10-minute walk. There's a drugstore and a Lawson convenience store downstairs. On the 3rd floor, you can enjoy a public bath, and the room comes with a bath basket and Yukata, which helped wash away my fatigue and gave me a taste of Japanese bathing culture.

Nice hotel, quite close to Osaka JR station, which makes getting around very convenient. We booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child in advance, and they were able to provide an extra bed. The room size was also quite spacious, which is rare for Japan.

The location is super convenient for shopping around Umeda, which saved me a lot of time. The hotel's large public bath is great for unwinding after a long day of travel, though I wish the operating hours were longer. It gets really crowded, especially since they stop letting people in after 11:30 PM. It would be much more flexible if they could extend it by an hour. Oh, and there's an amazing BBQ restaurant, Market Kitchen, on B1 of Umeda Lucua 1000 where you can pick your own meat to grill – such a good deal! I was really happy staying in this area. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in Osaka's Umeda area, surrounded by many restaurants. There's a fantastic Dondon Yakiniku restaurant right downstairs that's definitely worth trying – their beef is excellent! 👍 This is a budget-friendly hotel, and the triple room we booked for our family of three was perfect, as they could add an extra bed. The hygiene is good, the sheets and duvets are clean, and it's very convenient for getting around. There are supermarkets and drugstores nearby, and Osaka Station is only about a 10-minute walk away. I would definitely consider staying here again.

The room was larger than typical Japanese hotel rooms. It's directly accessible from Exit 11-43 of the subway, so you don't get wet on rainy days or struggle in the heat. The disposable amenities were similar to what you'd find in China, with the addition of a body scrub towel and mouthwash. To get to nearby attractions or the airport, the Kitashinchi subway station isn't ideal; you'll still need to go to Osaka Station or Umeda. Directly opposite the hotel, in the basement of the building, there's a tonkatsu restaurant on B1 and a Mos Burger on B2, so breakfast is easily sorted.

The overall experience at this hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. The front desk staff were warm and patient, and the location was convenient for getting around. The facilities were comprehensive and well-maintained, offering great value for money. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.
