The hotel is located on the outskirts of Naruko Onsen. The large bath on the first floor has an open-air bath but is a bit narrow, and the large bath on the sixth floor does not have an open-air bath and is slightly wider. The exterior of the hotel looks old, but the interior is clean and renovated. The hot air heater is strong and the bedding is light and warm, so I slept warmly even in the middle of winter. However, there is no humidifier and the refrigerator is old and very loud.

Quite a traditional hotel about 15 mins walk from the centre of town. Large public area where there is free WiFi ( not available in the bedrooms). Rooms are large and quaintly old fashioned. Everything is clean. We had room 306 with beds although there are futons available (would have preferred a futon but as only staying for one night this was unimportant). Traditional Japanese sweet and green tea in the room Shower pressure good and lots of hot water. Indoor and outdoor onsen albeit rather small. Dinner was beautifully presented in the second floor restaurant. En route several beautiful kimonos are on display. Breakfast, average fare and probably not the best we had experienced during our stay in Japan. Good fresh fruit though.

I went there with my family. The hot springs were also open-air, so we enjoyed them. At dinner, some of the food had been made a long time ago and had gone cold, which was a little disappointing. The breakfast was a buffet in a large room, which was acceptable. The staff were all busy and didn't seem to have time, so the service was quite disappointing. The pillows were too high and hard, so I couldn't sleep well.
