Clean, well-maintained hotel in a very convenient central location. Easy access to main attractions, shops, and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. A reliable and comfortable stay.

It was a memorable stay at Karl Johan. The location was super Awesome right in front of the Parliament, smack in the middle. Walking distance to the Pier. Breakfast was fantastic. Good selections of everything you need for breakfast. Room was super comfortable. 10/10 will stay here again.

A family of three stayed in a family room on the 5th floor. The room was a bit cramped, but its location on Karl Johans Gate was excellent, about a 10-minute walk from the central station. Breakfast was good, and if you couldn't make it to breakfast, the front desk would thoughtfully arrange a convenient breakfast for you to take away if informed in advance.

Hotel industry on strike. No room cleaning. Breakfast is ok. No egg station or fresh juices. Weird room at the back of the building. Room facing a wall

I had a wonderful stay at the Karl Johan Hotel and would highly recommend it, especially for anyone who values convenience, comfort, and a great start to the day. The location is truly unbeatable—right on Karl Johans gate, in the heart of Oslo. Everything you could want is within walking distance, from major attractions and shops to restaurants and public transport. It made exploring the city incredibly easy and enjoyable. The room was another highlight. It was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of room to relax after a day out. The layout was practical, the bed was comfortable, and everything felt clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall sense of comfort. Breakfast was excellent and definitely worth mentioning. There was a wide variety of options, from fresh bread and pastries to hot dishes and healthy choices. Everything was well-prepared and constantly replenished, making it a great way to start the day. Overall, Karl Johan Hotel offers a fantastic combination of prime location, roomy accommodations, and a delicious breakfast. I would happily stay here again.

Location is really good but not very accessible to our room with our luggage. We had to take our luggage through the breakfast area.

Excellent, far exceeded my expectations, especially the breakfast. For Europe, it was quite abundant. The staff were also very polite, and the location is superb, making it convenient to get anywhere.

Definitely a busier part of town but we enjoyed being in the middle of it. Could see and hear the water fountains in the park from window. There is a little second level perch/balcony which was amazing to sit at during the evening sun while sipping some of the delicious white wine provided by hotel. Easy walk to the train stations and overall great location for walking to all of the places we wanted to go to. Beds were very comfortable and we had excellent sleep! Morning breakfast was amazing and had a very nice ambiance! I can’t believe the fresh juice station and health shots…America needs to step up the game as far as hotel breakfasts.

Hotel is so nice located in the city center of Olso where you can easily walk to shopping and to tourist attractions

Everyone was polite except the receptionist Ameena, who was rude.

Great location and good breakfast, but the room was small.

Stayed together under separate bookings and we all enjoyed our time at Karl Johan. Couldn’t ask for better location, service, and breakfast! Will be back if I’m in Oslo.
