Cest Si Bon Hotel ★★★
"Half of our party was in a family room and it was next to the pool with shaded tables right in front. That part of the hotel was really nice, and we did enjoy our evening here. There is also a playground here for the kids. The other rooms were quite far around the back. That part is more like a motel where you park your car in front of the room. You are right next to each other with 50 or so rooms, so you hear everyone around you come home all night long. As it's a big place, there is quite some noise from that. Also, the people across the road face each other, so you have to constantly have the curtains closed. Then in the morning around 8.30 the water was just randomly turned off without any warning. Luckily, we had an early start and I had already showered. Breakfast service was quite slow. Some tables had butter, others didn't. There was one egg station and for such a big hotel it just wasn't enough. Also, little birds were running around in between the food that was out. It might be fine for a bigger party as you can get loads of rooms and it has the restaurant attached but we found it too big."
Aloegrove Safari Lodge ★★★
"The setting of this lodge is phenomenal. The room we were allocated definitely needs a makeover, the bathroom was very small and the shower was rubbish. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food was good."
Village Boutique Hotel ★★★
"We had an absolutely lovely stay at Village Boutique, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything necessary. Best of all was the tranquil environment to relax in. Would definitely recommend"
Out of Africa Guesthouse ★★★
"VERY PLEASANT AND QUIET PLACE. CLEAN AND SPACIOUS ROOMS. CHARMING CORNERS AND TASTEFUL DECORATION. RESTAURANT WITH A VARIED MENU AND WELL-PREPARED FOOD WITH AN EXQUISITE PRESENTATION. FRIENDLY, AVAILABLE AND ATTENTIVE STAFF. "
Casa Forno Country Hotel ★★★
"Cosyly furnished, clean and spacious room with large bathroom. Great is the proximity to a first-class restaurant with a large beer garden and beautiful terrace. The restaurant is also frequented by locals and is really recommendable. There are not only pizza, burgers and steaks, also wild foods. Breakfast buffet is varied and delicious. "
Mount Etjo Safari Lodge ★★★
"When you first arrive, you instantly relax. The staff are nice and helpful and while it feels like a mom and pop kind of place, it's run like a first rate hotel. Check in was easy and we found our room quickly. It was one of the family rooms and it was really spacious with a beautiful shower, a jacuzzi tub, comfy furnishings and a bed I could have spent a week in. They thought of every detail and it made for a truly lovely experience. On the river across from our room you could sit on benches and watch/listen to the pod of hippos, see elephants, a variety of antelope and pelicans - without ever going on a game drive. The pool was relaxing and we felt so relaxed and welcomed there. The food was very good, not sure who their pastry chef is but they are incredible. The nightly soup was a delight, each bowl was delicious! The waitstaff were very attentive and nice. We went on two game drives, one in the afternoon and one in the morning - both were amazing in their own right but since it was chilly in the morning - the afternoon drive had more animals out for viewing. But, there were other things about the morning drive that made it special. The guides were awesome and had interesting facts about the animals I had never heard. All in all it was an amazing stay and I would return in a heartbeat!! Great job Mt. Etjo!"
Waterberg Wilderness - One Namibia ★★★
"It is a beautiful spot, quiet and secluded. However, it is could be much better if they just take more care on their food and beverage. The restaurant is cold, boring….. no pleasant lighting, no music, no camp fire etc."
Otjiwa Safari Lodge ★★★★
"Great last night in Namibia on our way to the airport. Beautiful chalets with a direct sunset view, over a (dried up) water hole with loads for springbok and a variety of birds. Plenty of other animals wandering past the reception / (small) pool area. Very decent dinner, enjoyed by all. There was a little staff singing/dancing performance for tips - slightly staged but still good to hear/see. We did the night drive and got lucky with a pair of leopards, plus plenty of other interesting species (bat-eared foxes, aardvark, wild cats, genet etc); however, more information would have been welcome. Wrap up warm! We also did the rhino drive/walk. It was good to walk up very close through the bush. Though all three vehicles converged at roughly the same time, it didn't feel too busy. There was a bit less other game in the morning than I expected but we saw waterbuck that we hadn't seen elsewhere. I wish we had had a little longer, to take some walks or horse rides around the property - both of which look very tempting."
Waterberg Guest Farm ★★★
"We stayed in one of the chalets, with a beautiful full window view of the Waterberg. The central lappa area is very inviting and the staff really helpful and kind. We walked/scrambled up the hill on the path which also gave really good views of the whole Waterberg area, and my partner went horse riding,- amongst the cattle and along dry river beds. Harry Schneider also takes an active interest in his customers which I thought sums up the farm. "
