Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel ★★★★★
Scenic lakeside rooms with panoramic views of Lake Biwa, pools, kid-friendly activities and easy access to the attractions of Otsu.
Yuzanso ★★★★
"The hotel is located by Lake Biwa, and the room was decent. We booked a private onsen room with breakfast and dinner included. The food was excellent, the hot spring was great, and the hotel's service was also very good."
Toyoko Inn Kyoto Biwako Otsu ★★★
"Very good, very close to the station, self check-in and check-out"
Biwako Hotel ★★★★★
"The views are absolutely stunning, but this hotel has quite a few downsides. First, the good points: The scenery is incredibly beautiful, and you can see Lake Biwa right from your window. The public bath isn't crowded, and the views from there are also lovely during the day. This was the hotel with the best views during our entire trip to Japan. The room itself is huge, with plenty of space for multiple suitcases. Now for the cons: 1. It's an 8-minute shuttle bus ride from Otsu Station. However, the shuttle bus is a mid-sized vehicle, and I always felt bad for the driver struggling with luggage, especially when it was full during peak hours (packed, with just enough seats for everyone). The bus's air conditioning wasn't very strong, so it got quite hot when there were a lot of people in summer. It would be great if they had a larger bus, similar to the Biwako Hotel. 2. The hotel has a very strong, unpleasant odor, almost like body odor. It lingered for several days and was really off-putting. I'm not sure if all rooms have this issue. 3. You absolutely cannot open the window at night. They should really put up a warning sign, because if you do, a swarm of small, light-seeking insects will fly in, and you won't be able to get rid of them all. On our first night, we didn't realize and didn't close the window tightly, and we were incredibly bothered by bugs all night. Even though it's an older hotel, I really hope they can address these issues."
Biwako Ryokusuitei ★★★★
"This is a Japanese onsen hotel. The service and food were great, but the rules are a bit rigid. My husband came to drop us off and was planning to leave the same evening without staying. We just wanted to chat as a family of three in our room for a bit. To our surprise, the staff told us we could only talk in the lobby. They said only the person who made the reservation could enter the room, based on how many people were booked. I offered to pay extra so my husband could rest in the room before leaving, but they still refused. Then, to ensure I didn't take my husband into the room, the staff watched us all the way as we put our luggage in, making sure he didn't enter, and then politely escorted him back to the lobby. Alright, I guess we have to follow the rules of Japanese onsen hotels."
Yumotokan ★★★★
"Excellent hotel."
SUPER HOTEL Otsu Station ★★★
"The service is very good, the breakfast is simple, the room is a bit small, and it is very close to the station, making travel convenient."
Smile Hotel Otsu Seta ★★★
"The room was spacious and clean."
Inase Otsu Machiya Bed and Breakfast ★★
"This is the Kyoto machiya I want to know most! I almost canceled because it was too far, but after thinking about it I decided to go and found that Otsu is a treasure~ Looking at the big lake that looks like the seaside, it’s very, very comfortable! This accommodation is very nice, nothing wrong with it, the boss is very chatty (in English) but it’s a pity that I didn’t order breakfast in advance, everyone must order it! It’s also good to eat Omi beef nearby."

Biwa-Lakeside Cottage B B Dylan
"Note that for double bed rooms, the price difference between single occupancy and double occupancy is quite large, but the others are all very good."
J-Hoppers Lake Biwa Guesthouse
"It was really good, good location and nice facilitie."
Pension Lakeside
"Suitable for people who want to enjoy summer barbecues and splashing around in the water. There are no restaurants nearby, but there are no shops nearby. There are restaurants one stop away from the JR station. People who need to eat should check beforehand. The bath, toilet and washroom are shared on the first floor. The bed was comfortable, but the room was small. There is no manager on site (perhaps just behind?), so it may be good for people who value privacy. It is better to use it for a large group barbecue or similar, rather than staying as a regular hotel."
RIPSTICK Private Luxury Resort
Iza Oumimaiko
"Even with eight people inside, there was plenty of space, and we really felt close to nature."
Ayaha Lakeside Hotel
"Shadian is very clean, has a view of Lake Bipa, and has a hot spring♨️. You can take a dip when you return to Shadian after playing all day. It is very comfortable. There is also free parking for the convenience of self-driving travelers."
Calendar Hotel
"It was my first time staying at a capsule hotel, and it was very comfortable! There were restaurants and a supermarket with an eat-in area nearby, so I didn't have any trouble finding food."
APA Hotel Biwako Seta Ekimae
"Please note that parking lots that are not affiliated with the company are expensive on weekends."
Hotel Koo Otsuhyakucho
"The room is super big, the design is very good, and the service is great. It’s a worthwhile trip!"
Hotel Atlantis Otsu (Adult Only)
"The room was quite large and very quiet."
Ogotoso
"The soundproofing was a bit poor, and the fact that the toilet wasn't in the room was a little inconvenient, but the staff were incredibly helpful. I'd definitely come back if I had the chance. Waking up this morning to see snow falling was fantastic!"
Ofuro Café New Biwako Hotel
"It’s really good. You can take a bath for free. The meals you pay for are delicious. The quality of the meat is good."
Holiday Afternoon
"Very nice. The owner is very nice and helpful. He is able to speak English. Moreover, the private Onsen room is really impressive. Hope I can go next time."
Kyo Oumi
"A relatively pleasant travel experience"
