We had a three-night stay in May, drawn to the area because an ancestor of my husband's wrote an angling book set along the Otter, and drawn to the hotel because of its quaint name. We liked pretty much everything about the hotel, from the moment we found it in its tucked-away and very quiet location. We had a friendly welcome, our room was just what we wanted (big bed, very clean, comfortable, quiet) and we went on to enjoy our days of exploring this lovely region with its interesting towns. We ate in the hotel dining room for two out of our three nights, and each time were served by young and efficient staff who were enthusiastic and helpful. Breakfasts were pre-ordered, the service was once again highly efficient, and the food was great.
